I was awaiting a package on 10/16/2014, nothing major, $10 worth of stuff from Amazon, only to witness something so ironic I had to share with everyone. UPS man, great job... FedEx guy (if he even works for them) you're a bad bad man...

My 10th completed build. From the 1990 movie Days Of Thunder this is the #51 Exxon Chevy Lumina, driven in the movie by character Rowdy Burns, driven in real life races by Bobby Hamilton and Hut Stricklin. Body is painted testors gloss black, chassis and roll cages Krylon Pewter grey. Kit is the Monogram DOT Hardee's, decals by Powerslide. This car is easily my favourite from Days Of Thunder

Here is the 2nd NASCAR model I built this summer. Ernie Irvan's Kodak Oldsmobile from the 1990 Winston Cup Season. This model came from a Kodak Olds Combo kit that also has Rick Wilson's ride from 1987 (I'll be doing that one eventually) This car was originally drivin by Phil Parsons at the start of the 1990 season, however he was released after just 3 races and Irvan made his debut in this car at Atlanta that spring. Irvan eventually won his first Winston Cup race that summer at Bristol. Towards the end of 1990 the Morgan McClure team started using Chevy's on and off and by the time 1991 rolled around the team had made the perminant switch. Enjoy these pictures, I really enjoyed building this car! Built in July-August 2011 Kit by Monogram

My 8th Model Car since starting last summer. Mr.September himself Harry Gant and his #33 Skoal Oldsmobile from 1991. Of course Gant is most famous for his 4 race winning streak during September of 1991 at the age of 51. He also won 2 Busch races during that stretch and was very close to winning a 5th straight cup race before his brakes failed with a few laps to go and he finished 2nd. This kit is the Dinner Bell Oldsmobile #75 kit by Monogram. I was originally going to make that car however the decals on it are terrible and they shatter the second they hit the water. I was given about 4 of the Dinner Bell sheets and they all exploded in the water so I decided to do the Harry Gant car instead, not sure who the decals are by as they were given to me but they were fantastic. Body is painted with Krylon Gloss White and Tamyia Racing Green over top of Tamyia British Green. Hope you enjoy it!

My 3rd model is Davey Allison's Texaco Havoline Ford Thunderbird from the early 1990's. This model isnt really built to any specific year however it's probably closest to the 1991 version. Davey of course pretty much ran in a #28 Texaco Havoline Ford for his entire Winston Cup career. This particular paint scheme debuted at the start of the 1991 season and was run till Davey's death in July of 1993. This exact scheme was actually used until the end of 1993 with drivers Lake Speed and Ernie Irvan before the number style changed for 1994. Davey had the final 11 of his 19 cup series wins in this scheme including the 1992 Daytona 500. It was also the car that nearly carried Davey to the 1992 Winston Cup Championship but eventually finished 3rd in the standings, tying his best title finish with his 3rd in 1991. Model was built in September 2011. Kit by Monogram.
