Well, i booked flight to Italy about 8 months ago and was so excited by the lesser cost and direct flight AND exit row seating in advance...THEN 2 WEEKS BEFORE MY FLIGHT, FRIEND TELLS ME THEY CHANGED AIRPLANE AND ARBITRARILY ASSIGNED ME SEATS!! They say they notified everyone by email but i check mine every day an NO WAY SENT!! 45 minute WAIT ON CHAT & PHONE last night but got some help so we will see how things progress or digress from this NASTY experience.
When I Travel The World (4 days ago)
Sorry to hear about that, I presume they are using a charter airline to fly the route you are on now ?
Kerta Kerta (8 days ago)
Flew CPH - LAX and OAK - CDG. No other airline could offer any similar prices in June / July. Excellent 787-9 aircraft and flight experience. In comparison to some other airlines they had more leg room. Excellent entertainment. About food, bring your own food in the future if you do not like their food. Some people did even bring their own pillows and blankets for the flight. And for sure, their hand luggage was far bigger that the one allowed on the aircraft. I would definitly fly again with them.
When I Travel The World (4 days ago)
Yep, I would fly them again myself, and I would just bring my own food next time.

Thank you for your honest review. I'm all about saving money and knowing what to avoid (meals) and which rows to try and snag are truly beneficial. Cheers! I hope many more flights and videos are in your future.

Thank you Thomas, I think Norwegian is great value for tickets, just don't buy the food :)

I'd never buy airline food, onboard. I'd buy or prepare my food outside of the airport and buy any drinks, after security. Also, I'd take an empty water bottle and just fill up, airside.

Yep, that was my only issue, but I wanted to try the food for the review to see what it was like, other than that I'm 100 % with you.

The remote gate is Norwegian's fault. The further away the gates, the cheaper they are.
Nubianette (18 days ago)
The Premium food is pretty decent, and to food in economy has gotten worse. They downgraded their Economy food, so the purchased food on the plane is even worse! I only buy to booze on the plane, and bring my own food if I’m not flying Premium.

"No expense is spared" ?......I don't think you are using this saying correctly. This statement is used when something is luxurious, not minimal or basic, as you were trying to state in your cabin description.
When I Travel The World (17 days ago)
Yep I did mean they did not spend any money.

Flying from Gatwick to Chicago on Wednesday with Norwegian and I'm autistic what seats have the extra space buddy on the D1751

*You fly LOW COST AIRLINE to save money... with NORWEGIAN you can save hundreds or $ compared with other legacy airlines, the food is still good.* -You actually got nothing to complain about, I will always fly LOW COST...

Evanthebat15 (24 days ago)
Hello, I am flying with them next month and to go I went with the LowFare since I only needed my hand baggage to travel, to come back I did the LowFare+, I have a question. For LowFare, do they not give water, tea or anything to drink on long flight? I am going to NY from Gatwick and wanted to know if they offer some free drinks and snacks like most airlines do, I've only ever traveled on Jetblue and Delta. Am I allowed to bring drinks and food inside after I pass security? Thank you!
Evanthebat15 (24 days ago)
@When I Travel The World Thank you very much!
When I Travel The World (24 days ago)
On the LowFare they do not offer you anything to drink or eat for free. By LAW they have to offer you free potable water from the plane, it does not have a good taste. I would advise purchasing some drinks and snacks after security to bring on the flight.

Some other review was unhappy with Norwegian, but for such an astoundingly low price it was a good deal. To get one of the "premium" seats you must have booked months ahead could shop for the lowest fare. With the money you saved you could have then enjoyed a really good meal in a fine restaurant!
john mckelliget (28 days ago)
Love Norwegian. I have never purchased the meal however.
When I Travel The World (25 days ago)
Yep the purchased meal was really the only issue I had.
Esa Denise (29 days ago)
My former boyfriend used to be a chef at LAX and it was gross reason why I never get meals on planes besides the rip off. But how was the flight sitting down for so many hours?
When I Travel The World (28 days ago)
I don't mind the sitting down, I do stand up a lot though on long flights.

Flown Norwegian so many times now, never had a bad meal, crew are pretty terrific, prices can not be beat especially if you don't eat airline food and only backpack your way to Europe, but even with the low fare option of bags and food it's still the best value out there unless you get really lucky, I've never found a cheaper flight and I fly the pond quite a lot. Planes are always immaculate, seats are comfy and leggy, only bad flight I ever had was due to a couple of loud drunk skanks.
When I Travel The World (1 month ago)

honestly , im only watching this to see if this airline is safe lol i know 9/10 airplanes are safe... but i mean when the tickets are cheaper, it just kinda makes you think that maybe, idk, an engine might blow out and kill everyone aboard .... i mean, airplanes make me nervous as is... and i really don't want to air travel like. Great video! I'd just like to add a couple of notes here about the whole food thing since there are many people writing about it in the comments: 1. If you've booked a Premium or a PremiumFlex ticket, the meals are free of charge, but you can still buy stuff from "the snack bar" for the regular prices. 2. If you booked a LowFare, LowFare Plus, or a Flex ticket, you can pre-order meals for 25 GBP per person online, which can be done here: https://www.norwegian.com/uk/ipr/aftersale/meal#/auth/lookup?returnState=meal.selection Apart from that, the video is totally accurate and covers everything you need to know.

Always buy a meal right before boarding at the terminal restaurants. It will be as fresh if not fresher than the in-flight meal while being cheaper and given a choice of what to eat.
When I Travel The World (1 month ago)
Yeah I agree with you there.
Cladcreeper (2 months ago)
Norwegian have nice colour schemes on their planes!
Cladcreeper (2 months ago)
Well, yes. But pretty cheap. They used only red paint and a bit of blue. It was a good idea to leave the reset white because it makes the plane less heavier and looks quite nice as red is my favourite colour.
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)

Norwegian gives you the best value for money in the industry-. Only new and fresh aircraft. Great fares, great service, and an excellent route network. It’s ranked higher, on Skytrax world 100 best airlines, than any of the large American carriers. -Recently, the Britts themselves, ranked Norwegian, higher than BA, Virgin Atlantic, or any other British carrier. I have flown several intercontinental flights with NAS, both on Premium, and economy. Excellent. The food has always been good. I’ve no idea, what this person is talking about. Highly recommended.
Peachy Sweetpea (2 months ago)
Heh! Why complain about the food when you paid the price of peanuts ($211.00 USD) for the ticket? Airlines are not welfare charity organizations. They are very high operating cost businesses. At those ticket prices an airline can only make money by selling extra items, such as food. You can always purchase an upgraded fare with Norwegian that includes the extras.
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
Its just mainly the price of the food, no issue on the flight itself.

Most common complaints are from stupid entitled people that get mad because Norwegian doesnt offer food nor water or drinks for free. I've flown 5 times with Norwegian and I'm flying with them again in November. I personally prefer to bring my own food and drinks with me than eating shitty airplane food.
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
Well if you watch my others videos you will see how I have flown a lot and actually know what i'm talking about. I have nothing but praise for Norwegian here, what I don't like is them selling meals to people for 25 pounds and serving them slop. If I was served something like a cheese toastie for dinner with maybe some other small snack, that would have been fine, as I could have eaten it. The chicken was disgusting and the mash was liquid. I just wanted people to know that the food is not worth paying for.
Tess _roblox (2 months ago)
I like that ur saying that you will eat everything plages in front of u. But ur actually very picky!😒 like it’s an plane on economy class don’t expect better than u will get! Like it isn’t business or first class🙄😠
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
I'm not a picky eater, but I don't eat slop.
oregonnich (2 months ago)
For that price, I'd just bring snacks and plan ahead. Can't beat the price if you plan ahead like you mentioned for the seats. Although I'd go for the outside seat just for the access. . . used to be all about that window but at 6'2'' on a long haul, that's damn near torture. Thanks for the video.
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
Yep , that's the general vibe, book a cheap ticket and bring your own snacks.
CMDR Sweeper (2 months ago)
Thank you, I was debating going on Norwegian the next time I go cruising out of Florida from Europe. The last time I went on SAS, but flying internally in the US is the worst, not only are your back not covered if there is a screwup with the ATC and the like which can really freak you out, but the airports are outdated and messy laid out. So I was debating flying out of the US to an European destination and go home from there, but you know what, I think I will stick with SAS, may not be the cheapest, but their economy wasn't as bad as I feared it would be.
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
I hope this video was helpful in you making your choice.

Gary L. Thomas (2 months ago)
For a low-cost airline, the negatives don't add up to much for me, l would fly them anytime. Over all, it seems like a decent airline to me. Go Norwegian!
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
I agree with you, it was only the food being the bad point. So I would have no issue flying them again, I would just eat before the flight.
Lien Law Maven (2 months ago)
The arrival meal that you describe beginning around the 6:00 minute mark is NOT a sandwich. It is a traditional Norwegian 'MATPAKKE'....a virtual delicacy in Norway....the ultimate brown sack lunch for work or school. I would guess that since it is nearly impossible to find a MATPAKKE, or the proper ingredients to make one in the U.S., it was probably delivered from Norway to give Norwegian travelers a treat from home on flights bound for Europe. Someone who travels the world should know what a MATPAKKE is.
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
Thanks for the info on that Matpakke. I have been to Norway many a times, but I don't typically eat sandwiches. With that being said, this was most likely made in LA, It was just so dry and disgusting I don't care what type of food it is, they need to put something in there make it edible. Some Butter, Mayo...anything. I would have eaten just the bits inside, but they were over processed Junk. If it was real meat and Cheese that's a different story.

tkell31 (2 months ago)
Flew Paris to JFK, flight was fine, they nickle and dime you for everything, and we sat on the tarmac for over an hour until a gate was ready...during that time they didnt offer even water. The first meal was okay, but the second thing was literally one slice of some kind of meat on a roll just like in the video. So yeah, bring drinks and food and dont expect to be on time, but it's cheap and fairly comfortable.
john mckelliget (28 days ago)
Stupid comment. just because you were delayed one time does not mean we "shouldn't expect to be on time".
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
Yep sounds like we had the same arrival sandwich, key is to buy before you fly. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Fred Collier (2 months ago)
What kind of food were you expecting on the cheapest flight home? I'd say eat a big meal before boarding, carry and apple or two for mid flight and eat after you land . . . there . . . . problem solved.
When I Travel The World (2 months ago)
Well no complaints on the seat price, just the 25GBP for the food that was provided. I would have been happier paying 10 for a cheese toastie V what I received.

I flew on a Norwegian 787 Boeing when I flew from lax to cdg Paris roundtrip and vice versa last July and August 2018. I would fly with them again. The flight was comfortable and quiet for those 11 hours. I would recommend eating before boarding though. The food is expensive and it's not as good as it looks. @TheSushiraw no as a matter of fact I was going to be flying this month on the 737 Max to Ireland but they pulled them! Unfortunately Norwegian is not doing well right now and my travel plans through them got changed four times! All because of the 737 Max debacle!
Mary Barry (20 days ago)
@TheSushiraw No I didn't I was supposed to this year and they canceled all the flights using 737 maxes to Ireland. Now unfortunately Norwegian have canceled ALL flights going directly to Ireland from the States! Very disappointing especially because I have a lot of points with Norwegian!

I booked a flight from FLL to BCN and another flight (royal air maroc) from BCN to ACC scheduled for 3.75 hours later. The Norwegian flight was supposed too leave FLL at 11:50 pm. We left around 1:30 am. Okay cool. So it's expected that the pilot would make the time up while in the air. The flight was supposed to be 7 hrs 35 mins (23:50 to 14:25 on December 2017). Anyway, once in the air, the flight took almost 2 hours longer than it was supposed to. Instead of flying straight, the plan flew along the east coast of U.S. and every landmark passed (and not across the ocean). Not sure why. If the trip took 7.5 hours, we would have arrived at 4 pm (16:00). Instead, we arrived at 5:16 pm (17:16). Then, when we landed I tried to hurry and grab my bags. It took me almost 45 minutes to wait for my bag AFTER going through customs. There were more than 20 people complaining at the Norwegian customer desk. Many missed flights or missed their check in time. I filed a complaint, but the representative said they couldn't offer me anything, and that the flight was only 2.9 hours off schedule (of course they didn't mention the ridiculous amount of time it took them to find our bags). The flight has to be at least 5 hours late. I cried all that day sleeping in the airport in a foreign country, young lady by myself. I called Norwegian and they told me to go to the customer service representative at the airport. After standing in the long line at El Prat, the customer service representative showed me a form and told me to file a formal complaint with the airline. Anyway, I spent the night in Barcelona airport, sleeping on a bench in the check in area. I had to spend $700 on another flight as mine had already left. I'm glad I did, as I was going to visit my father and he passed away less than a week after I'd left. The 200 or 300 you save is not worth the risk unless you have a direct flight to your destination. Don't think 4, 6, 8 hours between is enough. With Norwegian, anything can happen. Your flight can go very well or very wrong. It's worth mentioning that I'd already booked a return flight with Norwegian and that flight was okay. But trust me,they don't give a crap about their customers. Even though the return flight was okay, the attendants were inconsiderate. They barely want to give you water. And when I asked about a purchase I was considering making, the attendant didn't mention that they were about to pass out food 2 seconds later. He waited until I purchased, brought out the free food to everyone, and then brought my sandwich later. After telling customer service I wouldn't fly again, the continued to bombard me with emails about new flights and deals. Are you serious?! You couldn't even give me a free flight, or a DISCOUNT on my next flight, or Free peanuts for my inconvenience? Nothing?! Delta, Emirates may be extra but it's worth it for the service that you get. P.s. even though they aren't supposed to, Royal Air let me keep my return flight from ACC even though I missed my departure flight. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE from Royal Air.

So this asshat "airline" decides to break all laws and try to fly a GROUNDED Boeing 737Max from Spain to Norway today.....Unbelievable. It was grounded because it crashes into the ground against the pilots will. Yet, they decide to put peoples lives at risk (May crash into ground killing people on the ground). An airline that makes those kind of decisions should be shut down permanently!

I flew Norwegian from Ft. Lauderdale to Copenhagen to Rome and back. The flights were on time, comfortable and pleasant. I highly recommend them. However, if you fly Norwegian, remember that you are not going to a restaurant, just bring your own bag and enjoy the flight.

Yep I agree, Bring your own food and its a great airline to fly with.

Good useful video and well filmed. Pity about the food, but the aircraft at least had Rolls Royce engines. ;-))

I've been on many (12) Transatlantic flights, and I've not had one even reasonable meal. Regardless of the airline the foods depends on the business vs. regular/economy class. Pre-cooked meals that are nuked, having no seasoning...what else?

@barbara wissinger Which nationality is it? I needed to fly either KLM/Lufthansa for a connecting flight. More than half of these flights were to be continued to the final destination, and you fly against time zones (GMT), you really don't care what the food is like.

My son and I flew Premium Economy with LOT because fare was lower than LH's economy light. We received the same food as business class. There were a lot of duck courses.

Those flying saucers...who do you think they belong to. Answer. It isn't China or Russia. You think the USA is exposing its best.

You allways get what you payed for why bitching🙃
When I Travel The World (3 months ago)
Well I never complained about the ticket price or the actual seats. I complained about the food, and you say you get what you pay for, well 25 GBP for that meal, is not what I paid for.

I flew Norwegian business JFK - Oslo last year and the food was quite good. Price was far less than any legacy airline and the cabin crew were pleasant and efficient. No complaints and I would happily fly with them again.

25 quid for a tray of snot?? This is beyond theft. Glad you posted this misery.

Glad you agree with me on the food. Thanks for the comment.

A video like this really makes one long for carriers like 'Ward Air' in Canada. Huge wide bodied jets, spacious seats, highly edible meals, served with actual china & metal cutlery (included in the ticket price). Uniformed staff who were generally startlingly attractive and well groomed. Quite content that I was able to experience those bygone flights when one didn't need to be a multi-millionaire to get comfort food and roomy comfortable seats on long haul flights. Back then one simply brought a paperback novel or a magnetic chess set along to pass the time. Hey ho, such was life.

Ah, Ward Air. economy travel where you could stroll up to the upper level of the 747 where they had a bar and lounge seats.
KevinPDX1 (3 months ago)
I wonder if the width of the bulkhead seats is smaller (like Delta)?
When I Travel The World (3 months ago)
It might have been a little more narrow yes.

I've already booked my flight from Miami to Gatwick with them - a good price £195 including 2 meals -hopefully they will have improved the food by december
When I Travel The World (3 months ago)
Yeah that's a very good price, can't complaint there, I hope your food is better than mine.
