A girl went nuts because her cell phone died and she had to wait three days to get it fixed. She would have never lasted in my house. That cell phone would have ended up in the trash and she would have been grounded for a week.

If the dad can pull out a typewriter from thin air I'm pretty sure he can reach for the salt himself.

Worst acting ever. Terribly cringe-worthy.
Mr Pineapple (2 years ago)
but my parents are asian so all they ever say to me is that iam a disappointment lol
Mamon McBean (2 years ago)
it isn't about the acting. it's the message. These teens and young adults have no respect for family anymore. For some reason the thought of "Its my right" or,"it's just for a second" rules their mind. put the damn phone down and engage with the family, especially at dinner time. The acting may not be the best, but the message is spot on.

I went to a teenagers party a few months back with 8 people there (a mix of teens and adults including the birthday kids parents). We all talked and played board games for about 15 minutes until 1 person pulled out their phone, then her boyfriend pulled out his phone...before I knew it, every single person at the table had their phone out except me. They sat their the rest of the night scrolling facebook, showing each other funny pictures on facebook, watching videos, or texting. I was literally invisible, and I am not on a phone plan, nor do I ever put credit on my phone so I have no access to wifi or anything...even if I did I wouldn't join in (whatever the hell is so great about "joining in") - I wish people would spend time together :-(
Adam MacLeod (2 years ago)
I'd do horrific things to the guy in the red hoodie. Hot damn.
76jmm (2 years ago)
funny, but so true for people of all ages at the table. So fortunate to have parents and children, so many people have loved and lost theirs. Please enjoy each other while they are around.

really good, that's what we're doing most if not all the time at the table, restaurant, or some place else or another. let's put the phone down for a moment when we eat. (I'm guilty of doing this also)

tacocat (3 years ago)
If a parent tried this irl all they would get out of it is their kid taking a brief break from texting to snapchat about how "clever" their dad thinks he is, only to then immediately return to texting...

It's pass the salt , please. Bad parenting.
02btov (3 years ago)
+mary shaffer Good parents establish that they are in charge when they are ignored. The second time around he did not say "please" because he was forced to exert his authority. When someone acts like a jerk, they need to be jerked right back. Sometimes the jerk still won't get it because they are too far gone. These kids seemed to "get it."
Christine Suissesse (3 years ago)
+mary shaffer he did say Pass the Salt please
Susan Lloyd (3 years ago)
Matthew, I want to thank you for your video. Nicely done. Tell your mom and dad they did a nice job. I went to school with your dad in 1976-1978, when the school was NWC in Roseville.
Steve Dima (3 years ago)
well while they were not annoying anyone, dad was the only one who made any noise. so that's a bullshit video, doesn't prove anything, and certainly doesn't make any sense

A couple of years back I slaved over the oven on Xmas day and we all sat down for a lovely dinner with our 4 teenage children. No bullshit now , they had there phones in one hand and a fork in the other!!!!????? No conversation at all!.I moaned and I said if you don't leave them in your rooms when we sit at the table for dinner there will be no more Xmas dinners I'll do you sandwiches!. "OK then fair enough" !!!!???? So now I just do a few sandwiches and a small buffet selection and I can go to the pub for a few hours!!! Yippeee!!! Sad really but that's the way it is now.Same in the pub aswell , refuse to engage in any conversation with someone who is constantly on their phone and instead concentrate on my pint instead!!!! Lol!!!

You know what's funny about this? I don't text at the table, but my parents do, and so does my brother. There seems to be a sort of hypocrisy because for them, texting and checking football scores is all bueno even when they themselves get angry for other's not doing so.
Chris Bridges (3 years ago)
Love it. Love, love love LOVE IT. Makes me want to go dig out a typewriter and haul it around to every restaurant in the county. Thanks for such a humorous and smiling way to get the point across.
