People can be very disrespectful when it comes to what people do to earn their money. I'm an EMT and literally help sick and injured people every day and people still belittle us like we are just cab drivers. I'm also a Personal Trainer, I've done Lyft, I've delivered packages for Amazon, and one thing that always stays true is that people want to judge you on what you do for a living. The only thing that many people value is how much money you earn and that's just the legacy of a consumer society and the glorification of bags of money. It's a shame. Also many supposedly lower skilled jobs are the ones people rely on most in their daily lives. How many people would be upset if there was no one in the fast food restaurant to prep their order? What if no one came to collect the trash? What if there was no one to operate public transportation? Then what? Everyone's job has worth and value.

Im about to get hired as a home delivery driver. Are you allowed to carry any weapons on your person. I know sometimes people like to rob drivers thinking they carry money. I have a pistol permit and i will def be carrying that on me

Customers always blame us when it's their fault 100 % of the time.
CThompsonTv (7 months ago)
Most the the time it is their faults, but we are easier to blame. Annoying

Wow I missed this video somehow. I wondered how you handled customers like this situation (because you have a good attitude, better than me). I got a complaint once because I "laughed right at her" she said, I just couldn't believe she was serious...telling me I had to be to her business earlier...it was like 2:00. Also I think people think they can say anything they want to us, that's why the guy didn't really respond when you told him he was ignorant, he wasn't expecting that.

hi i came across your channle while reserching the pros and cons of delivery work, i have to say man i have learned a lot from you ty for your vids, i see you as a propper man working hard every day and that is somthing to respect always, i have a university degree with a master in logistic and i cant find propper work, and now im aplaying to several mail companys for any position , we grow up with the dogma of go to school go to univierity adn get a job in an office and every 1 who doesnt do that faild in their road in life; today iwish i knew what a welder makes a year or electrician or an aircraft technitian, but we are afraid of phisical work we want comfort and big pay with little work, i hope i get picked for delivery driver or what ever position to start a new road in my life becouse coorporate raod for me at least its not paying off!!! my sincer respect and admiration u got a subscriber out of me .

"You'll never get anywhere in life" lol Drivers make bank. He was a uneducated fool to make a such a comment. I worked as a Package Handler for a few years but ultimately went back to school to go into Law Enforcement. But I have serious respect for FedEx Ground employees and UPS employees. Being a Unloader for 3 years, dealing with the drivers, talking with them and hearing and sharing stories with them at points made me respect them a lot more. A lot of them start off as Package Handlers. They worked hard to get to that spot.
NIC PEREZ (1 year ago)
exactly. Theres alot of ignorant people in the world. I work for usps here in Texas. So i completely understand

👍 stay up C, we make a great salary and with a reputable company at that, I do about 74+ stops total for the day about 160 average on truck in the morning and about the same if not more picked up before I get back to the terminal. I get a great work out, meet some cool people oh and the ladies...👍 and make money. the job isn't complex but also needs to be respected cause it isn't easy either. be easy homie, I respect the vlogs.

I have my bachelor's and tried the 9 to 5 behind a desk, but it wasn't for me. I like what I do. Sad that some people need to try and make themselves feel more important by putting down others. Keep up the positivity and let the miserable foks stay miserable.

"sometimes you have to give yourself a pep talk before lifting these boxes" That had me laughing. You did the right thing by not getting into with that guy. Your day is long enough and even if you had good points to argue back with it's not going to change his mood or attitude. I admire how you keep positive. I need to work on that myself. Some days I walk in and in 10 seconds I realize how heavy the work load is and it can really bring my mood down. But people are going to get what they want to get wether you're happy about it or not. Doesn't change a thing. You got to get it done.
Scott D (1 year ago)
Novaximus I'll confess I've dropped a few f-bombs before opening the back door to deliver a massive box. Works like a charm because when I get to the door I already released the stress so I've got a smile when I get to the door... most of the time. Otherwise I'm pretty stoic.
CThompsonTv (1 year ago)
+Novaximus Ha. Thanks Man. Stay positive

Love your channel Bro. I just started with express in December and love it so far (besides the minimal people dealing). Kudos on you on keeping a level head with that ignoramus. A lot of people doubt my future because I have a bachelors degree. The main reason I do this job is because most of the time, I dont have to deal with people. Like you said drop, ring, run. Not having to deal with people has to be the biggest perk of being a driver.
CThompsonTv (1 year ago)
+Theodore Bagwell Thanks man, I appreciate that. People just don't understand. Stay safe out there

Thank fucking you. My man let me tell you. People will see me pulling a 4 story tall dolly at a crosswalk and keep standing on the little ramp, like MOVE. People expect me to haul there damn packages to the back, unpack it, and stock it for them. Business act like we do them a favor by delivering there customers/tenants packages. People treat us like we're lower class citizens and we're expected to just smile. Thats why I have a problem with not saying, "no problem." Because I did the customer a favor and if they're nice and polite, then its not a problem to me.

Delivery Dashcam (1 year ago)
Is it all deliveries in the morning and pick up during the day?
Brad Boisvert (9 months ago)
Delivery Dashcam whattttt? Haahha your joking i drive for ups and people at like 7 o'clock are like oh late night huh I'm like nope typical and peak 10 to 10:45pm
Scott D (1 year ago)
My oldest kid was just tuned 4 at my first peak. I remember after a long 6-day week (and we all have 6 day weeks at FedEx during peak to keep up with the madness) she missed me so much that the next morning after I got home she got mad at her mom for coming into the room to wake me up. Apparently my daughter had woke up at least an hour before I did and was just laying there all snuggled up to me. It's what I remember most my first peak was missing my kids and wife a lot.
Scott D (1 year ago)
Delivery Dashcam keep an Eye out during Christmas you will see ups and FedEx trucks out at night. I maxed out my 14 hr limit three days in one week during my first peak season it was pretty hellish. My second peak was much easier because I was mentally and physically well conditioned for it.
CThompsonTv (1 year ago)
+Delivery Dashcam Sorry dude, for some reason I didn't see this comment. But that's basically how my route is designed
Diaz (1 year ago)
Delivery Dashcam when I first started I was out until about 10 pm
Delivery Dashcam (1 year ago)
are their dashcams in fedex vehicles? If not are you allowed to install one? Do you drive the same truck everyday?
Scott D (1 year ago)
MrMikey1127 as far as driving a vehicle home it's just that the drivers had not discussed that beforehand with their boss I guess. That's a no-no.
Scott D (1 year ago)
MrMikey1127 Saturday before Mother's Day is always busy. Flowers and chocolates galore. It's all driver release so I don't mind.
Diaz (1 year ago)
Delivery Dashcam i was slammed the saturday before mothers day. one of the ground guys had to come in and take half out my route.
Diaz (1 year ago)
Scott D my truck has a gps on it. it monitors location, speed and hard breaking, but I'm also allowed to take the truck home at the end of the night. it saves me about 2 hours at the end of the day.

Your loader sucks ass bro
callofdutyguy9 (1 year ago)
Scott D these trucks are monsters. A small P57 can haul 9000lbs of payload. Packages don't get anywhere near that much weight.
CThompsonTv (1 year ago)
+Jay e you're telling me
Scott D (1 year ago)
Jay e gotta be hard on the suspension that has all the packages off one side of the truck first and then the other
