In southern Brazil, humans and dolphins team up to capture fish. What are your thoughts on this unique collaboration?

There should be more updates on this or like a hour documentary
Alastair Aiken (4 months ago)
More like the humans use the dolphins for their own greed. Of course. Selfish humans, us eating fish causes a disruption in the food chain, we should just stick to the meat we have. But no. We're too selfish to leave the fish alone, just because they're good for us doesn't mean that we need to eat them, there are other ways to get those nutrients (without harming the environment, I don't know). And people who are pescetarians are causing more harm to the environment than eating chickens (but not cows and sheep as they produce methane).

The salary for the dolphins seems underpaid for their overtine shifts.

If they could develop a way to train the dolphins to help with cleaning up waste in the oceans (bottles, plastic, etc) that would be interesting. Although not their problem, but, they're dolphins, they don't have anything better to do! Ha!

Anyone remember that disgraceful Mermaids mockumentary that had the gawl to say this mutualism was "evidence" of leftover behavior from cetacean-mermaid coevolution that dolphins taught humans because they superficially resemble their "masters"? The stupidity knows no bounds.

So you're mad at a an obvious joke that wasn't meant to be taken seriously? You're the stupid one
Legendary Weapon (4 months ago)
Every time NG posts a video I start crying and wonder how we can stop climate change and then I realize it's about having people like Trump in charge and at the end of the day I still cry when I see a fish being eating by dolphins and humans. It's disgusting that we have the means to 3at the soy products to keep our bodies perfectly strong but st the end of the day we still have to choose where are we going with the world because I still cry when I see people eating meat that we don't need to because the world can live without meats but the trump supporters are the ones who make me cry
Crayola Clouds (4 months ago)
Can you have a mental breakdown somewhere else? Humans can't live off soy products entirely and there are people who can't eat soy because of allergies. You fake bleeding hearts are the disgusting ones.
Nancy Neyedly (4 months ago)
"Fishermen" taking the dolphins food, yet National Geographic calls it "working together".
Gsix Jiro (4 months ago)
Nancy Neyedly then go get a gun kill a lot of people who fish for money even though some are maybe poor and that is maybe the only way to money for their needs, this can be one of the solutions for overfishing right?
Nancy Neyedly (4 months ago)
@Fathi Zahi No, read a paper, the oceans have been overfished by people to feed gluttonous people.
Nancy Neyedly (4 months ago)
@Crayola Clouds I'm aware of what is happening in the video but you completely missed my point which is not surprising given how illogical your response is. First you say animals aren't stupid or helpless then you say the way the dolphins hunt is a mess. Somehow the dolphins have managed to hunt for thousands of years with their "mess" of a technique. I'll try to state it simpler for you, it's the dolphins food only, not for humans. My point isn't about technique.
Crayola Clouds (4 months ago)
The dolphins were pushing the schools of fish towards the nets so they could catch the escapees. Animals aren't helpless and stupid, those dolphins and people were working together and they both got food out of it. Watch how dolphins usually hunt, it's a mess and it's far more difficult than the relationship they forged here.
Fathi Zahi (4 months ago)

@rohde007 Ahhh... The good ol'e "double standard." I didn't know that when you woke up this morning, you had omnipotent/omniscient powers bestowed upon you and thus have gone around judging what is "right" and "wrong..." Keep thinking that your perspective is correct and everybody else who doesn't agree with you, is wrong.
rohde007 (4 months ago)
@Automated_Response85 One thing is killing an animal that we created outside of the ecosystem to be killed, another is going into nature and hunting animals from the food chain and destroying the fauna, bring animals to extinction, luring wild animals just to kill them, your fake justice is blind you just try connect A to B to feel in a moral high ground ignoring everything else.
Automated_Response85 (4 months ago)

@Jason Joby yeah that's what I'm also thinking...

Mutualistic behavior between humans and other species is possibly the most beautiful thing this planet has to offer. A species capable of completely dominating ecosystems doing its best to live in simple peace with other animals around it is truly beautiful.

On the other hand, dolphins are betraying their fellow fish species by trapping them to their predators.
Gsix Jiro (4 months ago)
Jason Joby (4 months ago)
@Sameer Indian the fish is the prey of both dolphins and humans. That's common between them, and that's far more important to the survival of dolphins.
Sameer Indian (4 months ago)
@Krista Smith I think they more commonality to fellow species than to humans.
