In response to a growing demand for faster shipping times, PUMA North America transformed its order fulfillment operations to achieve same-day shipping on all dot com orders. Additionally, the company merged its fulfillment locations into a single facility, creating an omni-channel distribution center servicing direct to consumer and direct to store shipments across North America.
At the heart of the new system is a state-of-the-art robotic goods to person system called AutoStore. Combined with an Exacta warehouse execution system, the order fulfillment center handles about 200 e-commerce lines per hour, per operator and 700 wholesale units per hour, per operator, 2-3 times more than previous operations.
