Only 1 guy for a huge 8t+ truck? We always use 2 people for every delivery vehicle - even small <1 tons.

I work for this company as a warehouse selector and I make 64k a year.Yes the job is not easy but it’s not hard either you’re just lazy if you see it any other way.🤷🏾‍♂️And I’m only 35 at that.💵💰Hard work pays off plan & simple.

I worked for a company out of Iowa called Hawkeye Foodservice for 20 years until those Nazi bastards at US Foods showed up and started under cutting all the product and put them out of business. Went to work for US Foods and lasted 6 months. They absolutely sucked, product buried every single day, took away our new trucks and gave us 15 year old garbage wagons. US FOODS SUCKS, I REPEAT US FOODS SUCKS !!!!!

Aaron S. Do you like your job at gfs? I am thinking about applying out of springfield ohio DC. What is the pay like and also what are the typical hours you work. I’ve been driving for a little over 2 years now with US xpress delivering for Meijer. Are gfs trucks automatic?

I am applying for a driver position here, I'm currently employed at Home Hardware as a warehouse delivery driver lugging lumber, drywall, concrete, and many other building materials, will this be more strenuous? I'm nervous that I won't be able to keep up, how is their training?

CMB (3 months ago)
Not to sure but since they're paid by case, mile and what not u would be paid the same for 6 hours if u did the same amount as someone that took 12. Unless they get Chinese overtime along with the commission type of pay which is half your average hourly pay added for each hour after 40 or 8 in a day.

The job is brutal. I genarally move 20 to 30 thousand lbs a days down that ramp. Most deliveries are flat, but I have my share of stairs and ramps on my routes. Not to mention the crazy traffic we have to deal with.

Canadians dont like black people. Stay in Africa and get aids
brad h (1 year ago)
Did it with Ben E Keith and US Foods for nearly 20 years. Enjoyed the hard work until the industry decided not to care whether or not the driver can get to the product he needs. Digging stuff off the bottom of the far side of a roof-high pallet and in all three compartments on a jam packed trailer first thing in the morning and for the rest of the day did me in. I'm running linehaul in LTL now. Much less stressful and similar pay if not better.

At Gordon Food Service, you have to worship the GOD, the Gordon GOD. The transportation managers are irresponsible and poorly trained. Gordon also has a repack division, where they return out of date products, and repackage it in new cases with new expiration dates. Unreal

They could have broke down as well, or weather related. I've been late many times, but usually no more than an hour, two tops
RMS04 (1 year ago)
