Serving Suggestion: 1080p, lights off, volume up. Even better, go 'Original' for 4K. Click "Show more" for details about the sequence. ------------------------------------------------- Images: Music: 'Fill My Heart' by Two Steps from Hell Editor: David Peterson Optional Extras: View in 4K by selecting 'Original HD' in settings. ------------------------------------------------- This montage of time-lapse photography from the International Space Station is collected from many taken in Expeditions 29, 30 and 31. The previous sequence, 'All Alone In The Night' (, highlighted night sequences and spectacular aurora light shows and intended to give a feeling of flying through space. The goal with this sequence was to bring a bit more attention to the station itself, including the humans aboard it, particularly Don Pettit (appearing in the final shot) who took many of the sequences in this montage. ------------------------------------------------- Sequences: 0:03 - Bosnia & Herzegovina to Ukraine Mission: ISS031, Frames: 55446-55591 0:08 - South Atlantic Ocean, between Brazil and Liberia Mission: ISS031, Frames: 154281-154472 0:16 - Greece and Turkey Mission ISS031, Frames: 26008-26202 0:24 - South Pacific Ocean, near Peru Mission: ISS031, Frames: 48993-49186 0:32 - Turkey to Syria Mission: ISS031, Frame: 76590-76782 0:39 - Libya to the Mediterranean Mission: ISS031, Frames: 25782-25972 0:47 - Indian Ocean, between Kenya and Madagascar Mission: ISS031, Frames: 50818-51010 0:54 - Pacific Ocean, south of Japan Mission: ISS031, Frames: 117700-117772 0:58 - Pacific Ocean, facing North passing Hawaii Mission: ISS031, Frames: 101027-101674 1:02 - China, Japan, Pacific Ocean Mission: ISS030, Frames: 112458-112553 1:06 - South Pacific to North Atlantic, across Colombia/Venezuela Mission: ISS031, Frames: 75421-75513 1:10 - South Pacific to South Atlantic, across Chile/Argentina Mission: ISS031, Frames: 42147-42242 1:14 - South Pacific to North Atlantic, across Colombia/Venezuela Mission: ISS031, Frames: 48140-48199 1:17 - Pacific Ocean, from New Zealand to USA Mission: ISS031, Frames: 66043-66136 1:22 - Southern Chile to Angola, facing south Mission: ISS031, Frames: 49203-49277 1:25 - Iran to Australia Mission: ISS031, Frames: 180064-180120 1:29 - North America to South America Mission: ISS031, Frames: 180172-180222 1:33 - Pacific Ocean to Chile/Argentina/Brazil, facing south Mission: ISS031, Frames: 48094-48139 1:37 - South Pacific/Japan & North Pacific Mission: ISS031, Frames: 154164-154204,154205-154256 1:40 - South Pacific to South Atlantic, across Chile/Argentina/Brazil Mission: ISS031, Frames: 44598-44645 1:44 - South Pacific to North Atlantic, across Chile/Argentina/Brazil Mission: ISS030, Frames: 159064-159113 1:48 - India/Thailand/Indonesia/Australia/New Zealand Mission: ISS031, Frames: 177704-177764 1:52 - South Pacific to South Atlantic, across Chile/Argentina/Brazil Mission: ISS031, Frames: 37675-37735 1:56 - DR Congo/Zambia/Mozambique/Madagascar/Indian Ocean Mission: ISS030, Frames: 21632-21819 2:03 - Lovejoy Comet over Australia Mission: ISS030, Frames: 14225-14455 2:11 - Moon rising over China Mission: ISS031, Frames: 27699-27763 2:13 - Moon rising over Pacific Ocean, south of Japan Mission: ISS031, Frames: 27468-27526 2:14 - Moon rising over Taiwan & Philippines (with Don Pettit) Mission: ISS031, Frames: 27802-28017

C'mon you know they'll just cry 'fake' and move on to the next conspiracy theory. That's how they roll :(
David Peterson (7 months ago)
Yeah, they visit from time to time :p
Amun Ra (8 months ago)
At :40 you see the entire earth...all sides. This is impossible physics. The ISS is supposed to only be up 250 miles. How can you see the whole planet? You should not be able to see any more than a country the size of iceland. Just go to google earth and check ou the eye altitude. Either the ISS is 7000 miles up WITH a fish eye lens or this video is 100% CGI
John Camilleri (2 months ago)
Even on the ground you can see a 360 degree horizon with the right fisheye lens, let alone from the altitude of ISS. All due respect but your remark only proves you know little about optics.
David Peterson (8 months ago)
If you could see the whole earth that would indeed be fake. What you can see is the whole horizon (about 1,300 miles away) from 250 miles up, thanks to a very wide angle (aka fisheye) lens. The ISS can see about 3% of the surface area of the globe at any given time, which is a long way from 50%, for which you have to be out further than the moon to get close to seeing.
DSL lm/ (9 months ago)
the earth is square. lol
Programming Carrot (9 months ago)
Ok now, why did the soyuz activate it's RCS thrusters at 1:33 ? Do they have a secret plan to deorbit the ISS? Edit: Pardon me, it was the progress spacecraft, not the soyuz, didn't notice it
Pan Cytryna (9 months ago)
ISS have to keep it's course. Atmosphere is slowing it down, so they add speed
Karl jon (10 months ago)
Cgi at its very best this makes you brainwashed if you believe this crap your better off watching high altitude weather balloons with cameras on for better footage an also only they have go pro fish eye lens
John Camilleri (2 months ago)
And footage from a weather balloon proves this is fake how? You need to make a valid case, especially if you think all space travel is fake. Cheers.

All that money going to the best computer graphics for the totally CGI globe earth. Looks no different to the ones you see in movies. They use sooo many props scaled to size to fool the viewers, even on those live streams. Tsk, tsk. #flatearthisrealnowwatcheveryonegetmad
John Camilleri (2 months ago)
Practically anything can be faked with CGI nowadays so your remark proves absolutely nothing unless you posit that all or 'reality' is fake. Just because footage CAN be faked doesn't mean it IS fake. But whatever floats your boat.

Smoozable (1 year ago)
It should be called atmospheric station not space station because it orbits the earth within the thermosphere region Which is still inside earth atmosphere not in space
David Peterson (1 year ago)
Smoozable (1 year ago)
David Peterson Thanks for your reply Love your videos great video editing and choice of music
David Peterson (1 year ago)
There is actually matter throughout most of the galaxy, even between stars. So where does space "really" begin? According to international treaties, based on the point around which the amount of atmosphere generally becomes negligible, is at 100km. The station is at 400km, and you definitely can't breath outside it unassisted, so for me, it qualifies.

David Peterson (1 year ago)

Great wide angle fish-eye effect. Great CGI too.
David Peterson (1 year ago)
What leads you to believe these images are fake exactly? Please be specific.
lenny brown (1 year ago)
I have a low tolerance for fake being pawned off as real and people should be able to know the difference or at least have a choice. There is entirely too much deception in this world. PEACE
David Peterson (1 year ago)
Why would you bother?

Flashy bollix. The earth is FLAT I tells ye!!
Andrzej Flaga (1 year ago)
Those who think that there's been CGI employed in the making of this video are simply in the wrong. The video's been authored for sure with, say, After Effects. As the title suggests, it's a time lapse using original video recordings from the ISS. The only special effects could have been applied at transition points (counting out the fast forward effect).

Nice one, i wouldnt like to be in space though, ive seen to many films and so much can go wrong, one question though, when you reach the edge of the earth do you have to turn around and fly back the other way. ;) but seriously, nice views.
David Peterson (2 years ago)
+A lapse In time Sure, but what a way to go! Since none of those things have ever happened before, my name would go down in history 😃
Storms Uk (2 years ago)
Unless a stray asteroid smashes through your ship or you get sucked into a black hole or your suspended animation thing turns off too early or an alien manages to creep on board. But yeah in real life i dont think there is much that could compare with the sights.
David Peterson (2 years ago)
+A lapse In time Thanks! Personally I'd love to get to space one day. Yeah, it's risky but I think it would be worth it.

0:05 - 1:01 shows no stars. It is CGI.
David Peterson (2 years ago)
+Samuel Hall Yeah, I'm even less convinced by those conspiracy theories than the flat earth one.
Samuel Hall (2 years ago)
I find them a great deal more convincing than the air bubbles on the ISS and the divergent sources of light on the Moon 'landings'.
David Peterson (2 years ago)
+Samuel Hall So how many of them do you believe in? I've read the first 50 and so far zero have had any merit.
Samuel Hall (2 years ago)
I'm not saying that I am religious. But your previous question is a regularly asked one and it was on of the questions I asked too. I don't expect anyone to believe in all 200, I don't believe in all of them myself. However 200 is an impressive number.
David Peterson (2 years ago)
You're saying that if you believe the earth is a globe, you won't believe in God? There are a couple of billion Christians out there that would disagree...
Drunk Sheldon Cooper (3 years ago)
Excuse My Language but this is fucking Phenomenal editing. I know The satellite is taking these photos but to categorize them together in order with such timing and to the music is... is... amazing! lol most of the footage was mainly focused on the earth at day time and there was only 1min of night footage which was overlapping each other with the glare of his optics and the visible window viewing the stars at night. Why isn't there any footage of the stars clearly visible. there are over a billion stars to see why aren't they visible or present at any giving time.
Ag8MrE (3 years ago)
There is over a minute of footage with stars. Hard to catch them in sunlight as everything will be overexposed. Basic photography.

+David Peterson A ultima hora, te estoy explicando y mira como ya estas buscando excusas para desmentir lo que yo digo. De nada vale explicarte si al final todo lo niegas con alguna explicación absurda para justificar el globo. Smh.
Eli S. Ramirez (3 years ago)
David Peterson (3 years ago)
Eli S. Ramirez (3 years ago)
+David Peterson Busca flat earth society.
