Of course the elephants are getting grumpy! They know they’re on their way to become chow mein and Chinese erectile dysfunction medicine

Their terminal is NOT the biggest building in the world. That belongs to Boeings plane assembly building in Everett, Washington. And the Pentagon..

Dubai handles delays and passenger beef very good. Way better compared to the US

The music is way too dramatic. Its a missing passenger not the final battle climax to Lord of the rings trilogy.
WhereWasItLastTime (1 month ago)
But LoTR is fiction, this is edge of the seat stuff and deserves appropriate music to convey the missing passengers' inner pain you unfeeling brute. How can you sleep at night? This is my first week as a trainee snowflake - how am I doing so far?

1 way to reduce the hectic rush for transit passengers to catch their connecting flight, is to set a rule that their arrivals must have been scheduled at least 2hrs before their next flight. In face, China does not allow us to board any planes if we had not arrived at least 3hrs before!

That would never work. A plane on the ground is not making money for the airline, and it costs the airline about $50-60,000 US for every plane that's sitting on the ground. The turnaround is so quick bc those planes cost a fortune to run in fuel, catering, maintenance, paying for airport gate access, to say nothing of paying your ground and in-flight employees. China may have that luxury in-country, but globally it's simply not doable. As it is, a lot of UK and US airlines won't fly into Dubai bc it costs too much when they're on the ground there. It's why you're seeing mostly Emirates Airlines planes at the gates in the pan-overs. It's not just bc Dubai is the home hub of Emirates, it's bc there aren't that many airlines who will use Dubai. I'm not saying all UK and all US airlines before someone tries to argue with me. I said a lot. That cutoff for Sydney Airport at 11pm is most likely due to a noise pollution law. Hence the race being on. I give Emirates serious props for getting the bags transferred onto the flight with that kind of narrow window. I almost missed my connection in Gatwick due to delays and then you simply cannot control what the weather does either. My suitcase was sent on in a later flight that day. I honestly thought those late transfers weren't going to get their luggage so I was really impressed when I heard they had reopened the cargo holds to get the last baggage on. Anyway, my 2 cents.

Oh my god I cannot believe that this airline is carrying two baby elephants to China, of all bloody places. These poor babies belong with their mothers in the wild. This makes me sick the way these babies are snatched from their mothers. The grief elephants feel is very real and I cannot imagine how these babies must be feeling and their mothers who are left behind. This kind of thing has to stop and airlines need to refuse the transport of wild animals for profit and greed 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Josh R (22 days ago)
Oh my gosh, you people are so annoying. You have no idea where these elephants came from. Maybe the mother died. Maybe these elephants can't live on their own. And the airlines shouldn't be restricted on what animals they can carry, simply because it hurts your feelings.

First of, the elephants were most likely born in a sanctuary or wild life park since they're from Zimbabwe. Now, if you do a quick Google search on 'elephants in Zimbabwe' you'll see that Zimbabwe has an ever growing elephant population that is putting stress on the natural resources and the wildlife parks' resources. Take into consideration this series was most likely filmed in 2012, the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority probably predicted that the growth was going to be an issue. Solution: sell young elephants off to wildlife sanctuaries or conservation parks. Secondly, the elephants are more likely to be male to encourage mating and increase population growth of the species but in the chance they are females, they would not be transported until they had been weaned off: so probably about two years old at least. Males do naturally leave their families to start their own when they've reached puberty. Thirdly, when Emirates is transporting them they are required to adhere strictly to any and all legal requirements and requirements recommended by wildlife associations in the transportation of unusual live cargo (anything besides pets). The airline will have these requirements set in place in advance of the flight to ensure the safe passage of the live cargo. This will include the animal can stand up fully, can turn round 360 degrees, can lie down fully, has the appropriate bedding, has any food and liquids, has large enough breathing holes and the cargo areas are kept heated. Additionally, in the case of elephants since they are sociable animals they would be required to stay together, hence two in the same crate. Yes, Emirates would be getting paid for transporting them, however, they would only be doing so if they met the requirements of the organisation looking for the elephants to be transported. An airline can refuse the transportation of live cargo if they feel the cargo is not suitable for flight and an airline such as Emirates would not take such a risk in transporting unsuitable live cargo because it would stain their reputation. Or do your idea and let the elephants free into the wild and they'll be dead in a couple of weeks.

Yes lets leave them to be hunted by poachers for their tusks. They will probably be treated like royalty in their new home. You wouldnt be able to transport such animals if its not all done legally with proper checks.

Flying Qatar short transfer times are handle by coaching passengers to a mini terminal and then direct to the next aircraft, less stress and panic. Transferred through Dubai and had to pass through the entire terminal building to an overcrowded Business Class lounge, long queues in the wash rooms, food devoured as soon as the trays are put in the display counter, then transferred by coach back to where I got off the inbound flight. No wonder the ground staff have such a stressful job.
