UPS Driver Caught On Camera Mishandling Packages

118 ratings | 71921 views
A UPS driver is caught on camera carelessly throwing packages. Joanne Brown says she's had numerous problems with damaged packages. So last week when it came time for holiday deliveries, she asked her daughter, Amber, to be on high alert. While the duo was prepared to meet a delivery man, they never expected to see what they saw. "He didn't think anybody was home. My car wasn't in the driveway. I was in Chattanooga. And he didn't know my daughter was catching it," says Joanne Brown. When Joanne got back, she was floored by her daughter's recorded video. This UPS employee wasn't delivering a lump of coal, but Brown says it felt like it with the way the package was dropped off. "I saw packages laying on the ground beside the truck and I saw two more being thrown out." We had a number of questions for a UPS spokesperson including why they showed up in a U-Haul. A spokesperson tells us that during the holiday busy season, They use the trucks to increase their fleet. After seeing the clip, Brown had, had enough. "After it happened several times, I decided okay I need to report this gentleman." While Brown reached out to as many supervisors as possible, she says she's still without any solid solutions. "The ethics of it! He should not be throwing our package that we pay our hard earned money and pay and throw like they're nothing." by Mikaya Thurmond

ups tried to lie and cover for their mistakes & damage of 65 Inch TV Package . On oct 31, 2017 , I gave ups guy address on shipping doc and ups said I did not give receiver address. They delivered on Nov 16, 2017 after I called everyday for 20 hrs to speak with reps/supervisors . During 2 weeks they drop/stack/crush TV and they denied $1,500 insurance & are deceiveful for saying false accusation that it was not package well . It’s how samsung manufacture standard TV Safe Packaging . Thick Foams Across Bottom & 3 Thick Foams On Top to Protect 1” Thin TV . TV is away from the box . If they never crush/drop/stack/mishandle, TV box would have been fine . 1. They lie that I did not give them the receiver’s address . 2. They bounce package around to several ups facilities for 2 weeks & damage TV then denied insurance for their mistakes damages . ups rep said take it to small claims court & hung up the phone on me. Disrespectful ! 3. They tried to reverse their damage package by saying that i did not package well . I have not see package . Off course it’s not package well cause ups crush/drop/stack package and all original packaging is not even going be there . 4. ups is being deceitful & they are getting away for doing illegal activities . ups Damage customers packages & denied insurance . It’s a different way to try to scam me . They will lose in court . See youtube videos how they drop customers packages off their trucks and denied people insurance claims by saying it was package well . YouTube Search for more videos > ups damaged package

They treat all packages the same... if it says fragile on the box that doesn't not matter trust me. They will just drop it down and throw it on the truck regardless if its fragile or not. UPS is a horrible company. I made the mistake of shipping with them and they damaged my package i learned my lesson. Nor will i do business with anyone who uses them. Show less REPLY

Quit shipping in cheap box and you won't have problem with boxes being "damage". Amazon is now the biggest trolling shipper in UPS with the "Arrow Up" symbol. Freedom of speech abuse - telling us it is fragile when its not :)

This is why Amazon is starting their own shipping company.
Russ Aman (4 months ago)
Bob Pante nope amazon doesn’t have shipping company. they have what’s equivalent to FedEX ground. companies contracted to deliver packages. mainly because of the high volume. i know because i have a friend working in their warehouse and he said their warehouse alone in our city puts out 25,000 packages a day. not counting what Fedex, UPS, USPS, and other shipping companies are already delivering. oh not to mention they have 3 warehouse in our city. that’s about 45,000 packages a day the other shipping companies i mentioned above don’t have to deal with.

Yeah it's not just this it happens in all parts of product process. Like for example when working at target they called unloading the truck throwing the truck and when putting items in the isles for stocking they called it bowling seriously they use those terms. Most of the time the items are fine unless you really go at it or hit something else with them. They way the truck comes packed is more concerning not only for damage to product but for self injury they way they have it so you have to let it fall down it's bad.

If you pack a box and ship it via UPS (or most other delivery services) and it can't be thrown five-to-ten feet without damaging what's inside, then it's not packed well enough and probably won't be covered by the insurance. During the Xmas rush some packages get smashed by other other packages or end up under a pile of boxes that weighs hundreds of pounds. That's no BS. It's all common sense if you actually think about it.
jeffw1267 (1 year ago)
That's true: the senders must take precautions. There are lots of videos devoted to this. I saw once in which a seller showed how he wrapped high-end turntables for delivery. You could drop that parcel off the top of a house and it wouldn't be damaged.
Amelia Reagan Wright (1 year ago)
Any delivery person, regardless of the company/entity for whom they work, SHOULD BE FIRED for delivering packages is such a terrible way.
Russ Aman (4 months ago)
lol no worries i always know what’s in each box so i know when i need to be gentle and when not to. it’s not the packages/amount of stops that annoy me it’s people like apartment for example. on callbox deliver for such and such apt #. guy/girl at the other end what’s the last name on the package? where’s the package from? oh what’s the first name? do you know what is it? oh i remember i didn’t know it would come this early. Me i’m thinking fuck i really don’t care just fuckn buzz the door open. now if i hear a single dumb question, comment, concern instead of the buzzer noise i’m leaving with the package. the guys at the warehouse i love them i bring the packages back tell them what happened they tell me we’re suppose to do 3 attempts but what the hell screw them slap a big RETURN TO SENDER on the box. problem solved. even business if it doesn’t require a signature and your business hours is 9-5 i get there after 9 and your still closed packages delivered to front door is what it is. same goes with houses none of that doorbell/ knock bullshit your ass should’ve been tracking your packages know when it’s arriving. i don’t get paid to figure where to hide your packages so it don’t get stolen from your porch. i get paid to get your package from point A-B what happens after that is not my problem i will not lose any sleep over this.

SimmyLexis (1 year ago)
As long as the item isn't damaged when it arrives I don't care. But if it's late or broken then we have a problem. You don't pay for the box you pay for what's inside. The box is packed in a secure way because shippers know its going to get thrown around. How did this even make the news?
Danny Pearson (1 year ago)
I have 117, stops on my route. some people get 3-5 packages a day. do you really think that I gently deliver each and every one? plus I have a certain time to get finished everyday. and I have to deal with your dog that doesn't bite, yeah right.

if that was me i would thrown the box from the truck to the porch. i had a cunt bitch at me for parking in front of her driveway. btw i was delivering to her house. she bitched at me don’t block my driveway. i told her i’m just delivering your package and she says i don’t care this is not a delivery zone. i maintained my cool told her ok got in the truck and left. that was my stop #27 and that day i had 220 stops. well stop #220 i went back to her house and left her package on the sidewalk. well she can wait until i’m done with the 219 stops then she can get her package. what i should’ve done was drive to her house scan the package as No Access but it’s ok she can carry that big heavy ass box herself up those stairs of hers.

Rahjee Brunner (7 months ago)
GTmaniac Ok. Let's pretend you're a driver for UPS. You having to sit here go to your job early to pick up your delivery truck. Then you have to travel to your assigned route and delivery hundreds packages some that are real important that could weigh up to 75-100 pounds in a certain amount of time while being watched because the DIAD tracks your movements. Not to mention you have to deal with all types of weather. After all hours of delivery empty out that truck, you reload the truck with pick ups then you have to drive all the way back to your center and drop off the truck. Most of the time you're not home until 11:00 or later.
GTmaniac (7 months ago)

If only you fucks worked at UPS you would know that when a package is damaged it's damaged by other heavy packages or by the conveyor belt
William Skillman (2 years ago)
+TimmyGudge1 yeah, the half the time the human error is the way it's package. Companies or individuals shipping items cheap or over used boxes with only one piece of tape sealing up the box. Also shipping a small item in a big box without properly securing inside the box. It's a good bet that it's going to get damaged. Especially during the holidays. It's the same thing with FedEx and Usps
TimmyGudge1 (2 years ago)
+Memo Obviously nothing breaks due to human error..

It's your own fault for not making something worthwhile out of your life.
Katie Crawford (2 years ago)
For you morons that b*tch and complain about your packages been smashed or torn a little need to get over it until you have worked at UPS or FedEx. They get smashed due to the conveyor belt with 1000's of other packages so don't blame the driver.
Jesse Verrier (9 months ago)
austin willcut You're right, to an extent. However, with the high amount of volume the hubs get on a daily basis, there is absolutely no way to expect everything to be perfect. Either get over it, or don't shop online.
austin willcut (11 months ago)
Well, that's obviously not what this video is showing lol! If the conveyor belt is at fault as you claim, don't you think maybe the company needs to change it's tactics? I don't think it's working out too well. Still, that doesn't excuse it. UPS and FedEx are still held responsible to what happens to your package. Are you saying people should just except damaged packages they spent their hard earned money on and lick UPS's ass without complaint or question? Sorry, I don't think so. I've seen plenty of cases of where the delivery person is to blame, it's not just a conveyor belt thing, a lot of FedEx/UPS workers just don't give a flying fuck about people's stuff. Simple as that. This damning video proves that even more.

Crystal Reed (3 years ago)
I understand that the employee should not be throwing packages. However, have any of the contents in the packages ever been damaged? That would be the one and only reason I would complain. Since it was never mentioned in the video, I think the lady just needed something to complain about. The edges of the boxes could have been bent, but did you ever consider that the people that load the trucks may have done it? Or that there are so many packages in the truck it could have been bent on the ride? If it is not fragile, then why are you so worried about the looks of the cardboard box? This lady seems a little dramatic to me. I have friends that deliver and work at UPS, if its not breakable then what is the big deal about throwing boxes out of the back? No its not professional, but they have several packages to deliver and a limited amount if time to do it in. It's the season of love and joy and you are trying to take someones job! Come on people, WWJD, What Would Jesus Do?
Wyatt Brown (1 year ago)
Crystal Reed damaged or not isn't the issue. throwing the package around with no care.
ACLTony (3 years ago)
+Crystal Reed Respectfully, are you serious? I've had small items shipped by package that, if dropped like they were in this vid, would most definitely be damaged hands; down! There's no excuse for tossing packages out of a truck like what was done here. What's exhibited here is a lack of care. Take someone's job? How about the reverse in that the driver should be thinking "I need to be careful with these packages". I have friends that work at UPS as well. IT is a tough job, yet they care enough about their employment status that they handle packages quickly, yet carefully which is what this driver should have been doing as well.
Crystal Reed (3 years ago)
I was referring to the lady trying to take a man's job at Christmas time. However you are right. Jesus would show more care delivering packages.
