I was a FedEx driver for 2 years in college, so I have so much respect for people that do this for a living its hard on the body and you work in extreme heat and cold! had a co worker have 10 years safe driving then one day he made a mistake and all that was gone backed into a car! he was heart broken! on a side note UPS pays more than FedEx some of the long term drivers are making $30 a hour.

i can't if he's just old or if he's been poisoned by the carcinogens in diesel smoke. I deliver car parts in a cargo van. its been about 6 months and i feel like a tarheel. I delivered pizza for a while too.. Wonder how hard it is to take the leap from 10 dollar parts guy to 25 dollar ups driver.

I’ve been in delivery for 15 years. I’ve done other jobs but delivery is the most fun. You get to meet new people every day and see all kinds of interesting stuff.

Fake, he walked all the way down the ramp, a true ups driver would use a slingshot from his truck and shoot them down

UPS is a joke in south Florida. Weak union. Horrible management and working enviroment. Always dealing with threats and harassment. I learned to deal with it only because of the $30+ an hour. Till one day 11 years into my career I was robbed in the hood at gunpoint at night. No matter how many times we told management to plz change our routes to at least deliver the hood in the am nothing ever changed and still hasn't since I got robbed 2 years ago. Because of Florida law work comp doesn't cover me due to it being a mental disability..ptsd..and not physical. Even though I was clocked in busting my ass its considered an employees "own" illness. I cant even get disability because their plan is wack. If I am injured on the job whether physical or mental they do not have to pay me shit..yet work comp does nothing for you. So here I am 2 years later with no money left in the bank and no help from ups. 11 years gone down the drain. They do not care about their employees nor their customers. All about numbers. It blew my mind that no one had my back in this situation. NOT even a call from management to see if I'm ok. Plz say NO to this p.o.s company

I will admit these men and women actually earn there money rain, cold, heat, storms, snow and all the crap that goes along with it. Good money and retirement and the medical and dental is probably one of best you can get. I am not sure how much insurance they pay if any.

33 years on the job and new hires coming in today w/ zero experience are making the same as him.
I started in 1993, for $8 an hour here in Texas. Today, a part timer starting at loading and unloading makes, (are you ready for this), $8 an hour!!
25 years later starting at the same pay!!!!!

What you guys don’t see is the countless hours of hard work, sweat, and blood this man has invested in this company. Anyone who thinks package handling is hard has absolutely no idea the struggle drivers face. Package handling is a walk in the park
Zac Morris (14 days ago)
And the best part, this man is rich as fuck but he has no urge to flaunt his wealth because he’s content knowing his honest labor for so many years has paid off.

Eric K (22 days ago)
I loaded and unloaded trailers for 6 months for UPS, making like 9 bucks an hour part time. Really wanted to hang in there for the driving position but the wife got pregnant so had to quit for a fulltime job. Hardest job ive ever done, but what i got out of it was that every job ive had after UPS was super easy in comparison. Those that stuck it out from package handling to driver, those people fucking earned it!

Great job! I started in '82 also and just retired 6/2018. I loved it. Not necessarily the job but the people. So many good folks out there. I miss it. Some you go back out and visit, but it's just not the same as being their UPS guy. Met my wife on my route in west L.A. I love your line "just enough to stay out of their way". I know a lot of guys go feeder driving, but package keeps you alive inside.
Christos (22 days ago)
I would bet that ya won’t find another driver for ups that will last 30 yrs. this is most likely the last one . Same just about anywhere, such as your local supermarket. Don’t believe this story has anything to do with reality. Stop allowing your reality to be fabricated.
