Dear Sir / Madam, I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Delivery The issue that I have experienced was: I am currently living in Thailand, am disabled and bedridden, I purchased a Patient hoist in UK and needed it shipping here to Thailand, I am in desperate need of this as I say I cannot get out of bed etc etc without it, this item was due to be delivered today ( 10 April 2019) here in Thailand in just a few hours and I am at a loss to understand something? a message was sent to the sender ( my Niece in UK, Rebecca Harrison) last night at 10:17pm telling us about hazardous material, surely this was never going to be here on time - as promised - by today, surely this should have been noticed before when collected, although my niece was asked about being a lithium rechargeable battery which it is and should be ok? I am in desperate need of this item and very very anxious now I have heard this as I was expecting to be able to get out of bed with more ease today? tracking number 1ZT0G78ZD920004819 I am wondering what I can do as we paid for express delivery and was told all was ok then the battery thing came up, sounds like an excuse to me for something, either way it is not going to be here today as promised and paid for? UPDATE; now 11th April and still its in UK although the battery issue was resolved and we were told as I am disabled it would be given urgent attention but still its in UK and the sender has not been told why? It occurred on: 8/04/2019 This meant that I am disabled with a muscle wasting disease and bedridden, I need the patient hoist to get from my bed to my wheelchair and commode and back to bed etc, no one knows the frustration of this who has not experienced it? Get it here........... I look forward to your prompt response on this matter. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply back via this email account. Yours faithfully, David Collier

Safe? More like lucky. I give it to anyone doing this job as I do in Chicago but he committed at least 12 mistakes. I gave him a break on a couple others. 1) @ 10 sec. Stepped backwards out of truck. 2(a) @ 36 sec. Put truck into gear before his seatbelt was engaged. 2(b) Didn't check his passenger side mirror. 2(c) Didn't check his rearview camera. 2(d) Didn't check his blind spot. 3(a) @ 44 sec. Didn't maintain his lane(drove over parking spots). 3(b) Didn't use his signal when making a right turn. 4) @ 51 sec. Failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign. 5) @ 1:18 Didn't square up to package being lifted. 6) @ 2:52 Didn't have his passenger mirror tucked in parking lot where vehicles could pass on that side. 7) Didn't maintain his lane. 30 years or not those are all facts and that's with a camera recording his every move. You have to Love and appreciate the longevity though as I know many guys that have been humping that long.

How about you show real shit like the mexicans that work the fields last day. A dishwashers last day. The real jobs that no one wants. Stop reporting on stupi things like this and show us the reality. How about you show the people that loaded that truck because the drivers arent the one that load that huge truck.

I am a seasonal UPS Driver Helper who my driver, my supervisors like me so much because of my work ethic, hard work my reliability and my understanding of the DIAD that they want me to become a UPS Driver one jockingly said that I can a finish a route all by myself but I don't want to one of the reasons is that I'll likely end up working in a rough route in a inner city neighborhood and I hate those places they only reserve the best routes for the guys with the most seniority, another reason is that it is not what I want to do in life I hate the notion of staying in a dead end job I have more important goals to do.
A King (3 months ago)
Truthseeking Troll it’s not deadend it pays pretty well if more than police officers depending on where you live. It’s a good job to use as a stepping stone for your true purpose in life.

Is a rpcd worth going for? I keep hearing pros and cons about it. Some drivers say go for it and some say don't, while others say at least try it. I mean if I can get on the 9-5 list, why not? I'm currently a part time coverage air driver 2+yrs. Off the street hire, know about 18 routes. I'm young and very active at the gym.

Working for UPS is like riding a bike, except the bike is on fire, the boxes are on fire, you are on fire and everything around you is on fire.

UPS sucks, all their new drivers suck, everything about them sucks. At my job we where getting a giant truck hub, with drum shipped to us for a unit that was down. The thing was 250lbs, on a pallet, and was important to get a unit back up. It seems like their customer service trained to just agree with the customer, and tell them what they think they want to hear. The day the tracking said out for delivery it rolled out around to 5pm. So I called the only 800 number I had, and gave her the tracking number. Keep in mind it wasn't a normal package tracking because it was freight. The lady argues with me for 20mins telling me my tracking is wrong because it should start with a 1z, which it would if it where ground or air, but this was for freight. I kept telling her it was ups freight and she had no idea what I was talking about. Finally she put me hold, talked to someone, and came back and said freight was a separate phone number and gave it to me. I called them, and they said yea its out for delivery you will have it. It was something we where desperate for, so we paid someone overtime to sit there and wait for ups. It rolls around to 7:30pm I know there is no way it is being delivered at the point. So I call again. First they say yea its still out you will get it, when I say are you sure because it is 7:30pm, those guys are done at 5pm he says no it wasn't put on the truck for deliver let me call the warehouse. Surprise, surprise no one answers because they all went home at 5pm. The next day they basically tell me they have no idea where this package is, they will look for it. How the hell do you lose a giant truck hub with drum, that's 250lbs, and on a pallet. They keep telling me everyday we are looking for it, we will find it. Finally I gave up, paid to get anther one from the company, and lost $1,000s keeping this truck out of service even longer. When the driver finally delivered the second one, luckily it did not get lost, he told me that some where along the line the hub fell off the pallet and some how got separated. Instead of pulling the empty pallet aside and indicating there was a problem, everyone just kept scanning the empty pallet and sending it along its route. What was put on his truck that day was literally a empty pallet. When he got to the stop before us, he saw it was a empty pallet, and took it back to the warehouse.

UPS is a great job I’ve been working there as a feeder driver over 15yrs now. But I can’t see myself retiring from there. Ive seen many drivers leave or retire from there busted up. The number 1 feeder driver(40yrs) at my building had to be forced to retire(DOT issues) 6 months later he was dead 💀 I definitely have respect for the delivery drivers cuz it’s a young mans sport. But the demand to be perfect every day is too much. Too much on you mentally, an physically and you earn every dollar for all the years you worked there.
Stoned Homer (7 months ago)
My father worked for Ups for 41 years started right after he got out of Vietnam, he was a helicopter mechanic. He told me that Boeing offered him a job but at the time long haul drivers at Ups were making more than what he was offered. As far as I know he has no regrets and loved working there.

I was a FedEx driver for 2 years in college, so I have so much respect for people that do this for a living its hard on the body and you work in extreme heat and cold! had a co worker have 10 years safe driving then one day he made a mistake and all that was gone backed into a car! he was heart broken! on a side note UPS pays more than FedEx some of the long term drivers are making $30 a hour.
