SEMI TRUCKS CRASHES | ACCIDENTS INVOLVING SEMI TRUCKS

SEMI TRUCKS DRIVING FAILS AND ACCIDENTS - LATEST NEWS, BREAKING STORIES AND COMMENTS 2019 Accidents involving semi trucks are some of the most serious auto accidents that can occur. When a semi truck makes a sharp turn and loses its center or gravity, it can turn on its side and either fall on or slide into other cars, causing large pile ups and serious injuries. Direct collisions can be even worse, resulting in extensive injuries and death. When a semi trailer truck collides with a car, the results are hardly ever positive. The size of these trailers is usually enough to cause serious damages to passengers in the smaller vehicles, and they can destroy these cars easily. While drivers and passengers in the other vehicle may be seriously hurt or even killed, many truck drivers walk away from the accidents without a single injury. Why Are There so Many Crashes Involving Semi-Tractor Trailers? Driving while fatigued is the number one safety issue facing the trucking industry and is a factor in almost 40% of all crashes in the U.S. The drivers for these trucking companies are under considerable pressure to move the cargo as quickly as possible, making 16 hour days not uncommon. Studies have revealed that 20% of semi tractor trailer drivers on the road had reported that they had fallen asleep at the wheel within the last 30 day period. There are Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations which address the hours of service that drivers are allowed to log. Unfortunately, many trucking companies find ways around these restrictions or flat out choose to violate the regulations, putting us all in danger. Many times, in order to keep their jobs, truckers have no choice but to keep the wheels moving. Truck-car collisions often involve some type of neglect on the part of the truck driver, the trucking company, or both. The most common causes of these crashes is poor training, drivers falling asleep at the wheel, improper or no maintenance of the truck or trailer, improper loading or aggressive driving, including speeding. Sometimes trucking companies hire incompetent or unskilled drivers and fail to provide appropriate training. These trucks are 10,000 pound monsters, are very hard to maneuver and are very unlike a passenger vehicle in their behavior. It takes great skill and experience to drive one safely and responsibly... Common causes of truck accidents include the following: Defective truck equipment/mechanical failure: State and federal regulations require trucking companies to keep their trucks in proper working order and follow regular maintenance checks. Defective equipment can lead to tire blowouts, brake failures and other problems. Overloaded trucks/unsecured loads: Overloaded trucks and unsecured loads can cause the truck to react poorly, erratically and dangerously. Loads can topple over or fall off trailers and cause accidents. Truck driver fatigue/driving hour log violations: Truckers are required to follow driving hours regulations and record their hours in a log. Driver fatigue is a frequent cause of serious trucking accidents. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Videos featured on FuryRoad news channel are intended for criticism, educational and journalistic purposes. I thought the law was that you have the merge left for police on the shoulder IF POSSIBLE. Not merge left at all costs and cause major accidents to avoid getting a ticket. I see trucks do this all the time because they think they will get a ticket if they don't merge left out of the slow lane, even if there are cars preventing a possible merge. Am I missing something or are drivers not understanding the laws?

Occasionally I hear people say I wish these trucks weren't in my way so I will Enlighten you to what appears to be a little known fact. If I am in front of you and you have absolutely no means at your disposal to remove me from said position that would make it my way. So why can you not see this big lumbering box a quarter of a mile if not further ahead of you on the road and adjust accordingly? So the anguish you feel when you get behind me is self-imposed.
Falcon 1 (3 days ago)
Just so you know...... I am already on the freeway and you want to get on, I have the right of way and do not need to slow down, speed up or move over. YOU adjust to ME. And because YOU are subject not to let ME out of a parking lot after I made a delivery, I am subject not to let you on the freeway simply because you want.

I have always been respectful of truckers, knowing basic physics of their size, maneuvering and stopping limitations. That being said, after watching many of these, I am going to be a hell of a lot more aware of that blind spot. I never realized just how blind that front blind spot is until seeing the view from inside the truck. Holy cow.

I'm not seeing all the poorly maintained trucks and the insecure loads. I just see bad driving. Even new tires can blow. Please stop blaming everything on truck maintenance even with poorly maintained trucks, the truck is rarely the cause of the accidents. It's usually the driver and they are usually the ones in the passenger vehicles. In Alberta 20 years ago there were many years when there were no at fault big truck collisions. Now we have driver schools and we have many at fault truck collisions. They are training people that we would not have when it was up to the trucking companies to do it. Don't get me wrong a big truck crash is scary. We haul over size and weight loads, people do all kinds of stupid things around us. We even had a truck come off a highway though a ditch and hit our parked truck and lowboy, DOT officers came out and inspected our truck for maintenance. The officers are generally quite horrible to us. The driving and attitude of the public is making us think about shutting down. We are going to have a serious trucking shortage in Alberta as many of the companies I talk to are considering shutting down as well. Thanks for making it sound like us trucking companies are killing everyone with our poor maintenance and doctored log books.

I hate it when McDs advertises late/24hrs but when you get there its only drive thru service. If your in a truck you can't go and we know they don't serve people w/o cars. I don't see why they don't offer a walk up window.

Why are there so many semi truck crashes you ask? Because retards don't understand that 30000 pounds can't stop like a fucking car, or they are in a non turning lane for an exit and fucking swerve across traffic to make the exit. PAY ATTENTION WHEN DRIVING SO YOU DONT KILL SOMEONE

Yeah, truckers have to own their mistakes and accept the responsibility for them. On the other hand, it's absolutely not right to blame them solely. Notice that in the statement, truck drivers are responsible for almost 40% of all crashes. Which leads to the question, who or what is responsible for the 60%? People driving anything smaller than a truck don't seem to realize when they cut a truck off or break check or any other idiocy that the truck is going to go right through them, despite what the trucker tries to do to avoid them. The best thing to do for everyone is to focus on safety and remember that driving is life or death, not a joke or a place to lose your temper. Anyway, that's my two cents.

Ha, funny thing is. My father used to work for xpo logistics in California and amazingly (my dad alone made XPO’s Route run much faster than previous managers before since they were such a low candidate for competitors) Roughly in one year alone my dad made XPO routes organized, strictly timed, busting his ass knowing which routes go where, what date and time they arrive, constantly communicating with truck drivers & they were either lazy, doing crack on the job or rude. Knowing my dad, he is a rough figure but understands how to control his anger but he whipped up most of the drivers there attitude wise and completeing these routes routinely and effectively and in return they give my dad an easier task (sometimes, late routes do occur/eta with competition) and minimal stress. Not to mention, the company given my dad FOUR REGIONAL RECOGNITION PLAQUES/CERTIFICATES denied him a raise after working on the job for a year. We left the state of CA back to hometown in AZ. They sent him letters to work for them again or for closer proximity to work for one in TX. It’s crazy knowing how these drivers behave so stupid sometimes and knowing how XPO went back to shit again.

because only truck driver know about emergency stop!!!! but other drivers do not know the rules of the road at all !! they don’t understand that the truck is hard to stop even at low speed !! drivers, read the traffic rules a little bit !!! when the truck makes a distance, do not drive in front of the truck!!!!!!!!!!!

Jl Bush (20 days ago)
Seems it would safer for everyone if some of the semi’s just blasted the vehicle in front of them out of the road and stopped all the swerving, and thus, involving other vehicles in the accident.
Carlos Diaz (20 days ago)
0:50 fell asleep? 9:42 how fucking lazy are you?
Bradley Taylor (20 days ago)
How about another "common cause of truck accidents:" Idiotic four-wheelers cutting us off because they are in a hurry. Or four-wheelers brake checking a semi because they are mad because we drive too slow. You know how hard it is to stop 80,000lbs?! About 67% of all car accidents involving trucks are the cars fault. Nobody wants to shine light on that because everybody always wants to blame the trucker. How about this: How about ALL trucks shut down for a week!!! Then y'all would have some respect and courtesy for trucks after that huh? When there's no food to put on the table because guess what.... no truck to haul it. There's a revolution coming very soon. Truckers are getting fed up with the bullshit cars put us through on a DAILY basis!!!! Knock your shit off because we are so tired of you jeopardizing our lives and everyone's lives on the road to save you 2 seconds!!! #Truckershutdown #Revolution

@Brian Landers At least if you can get through the fuel island theres almost always some easy parking in the back lol
Brian Landers (1 month ago)
Josh Mccarty : Well if the driver wasn't so lazy he should've parked his truck and walked inside. That pretty much sums up truck drivers today, either stupid and/or lazy. Besides, if he was near a Pilot or Loves don't you think he would've tied up a fuel island just to order a burger, fries and a drink?
