I have an AS in Business administration, BA in Management an a Masters in HR. I've learned so much and definitely see things from a different perspective. My critical thinking, analytical skills and vocabulary have improved drastically, however I still find it difficult to land a decent job due to the lack of experience in Management and HR. I have over 12 years of personal mechanical exp, 15 yrs of building, troubleshooting and fixing as well as upgrading hardware and optimizing software. I'm very well rounded in the things that I can do but I'm confused and lost and nearly giving up hope in finding a job. I almost want to give up on searching for jobs in business since it seems all they want is extensive experience. What's the point in earning a degree. I almost want to do something totally different but I feel discouraged. I feel like If i change direction, I'd thrown everything I worked so hard in obtaining away. Years down the drain and debt for nothing.

As far as Registered Nurses go, if you get an ADN degree, you cannot advance beyond a floor nurse. A BSN or an MSN is required to advance.

In 2018 I made over 200K PLUS had a company car (that I could use for personal trips and general use) full benefits, pension, and a $100K travel expense budget. I put 4 kids thru college and we were a single income family (mom stayed home with kids.....her choice) for 40 years. I certainly don't have that paper but was happy when my kids got it.

I know many machinist making 100k+ I personally have been in the trade 4 years and currently make 27$hr, granted that is the result of progressive experience serious effort, and jumping to a new company when opportunities arise. But including OT I am expecting to make over 60k this year. My brother is an electrician 4yrs experience making 32$hr expecting to make over 70k this year. The only trick we used to get there was busting ass every single day, and study. 1st Work hard, 2nd study 3rd respect the men with the knowledge and the sky is the limit. Don't expect the trades to give you a safe space, snowflakes need not apply. Invest in a trade school and it will pay off the first year.

DONT BECOME AN ELECTRICIAN!!!! The field is ruined. My dads been in this trade for 34 years. It’s wayyy different. He’s done all of the area. Commercial new and existing, and residential new and existing. He’s been a journeymen, working foreman, and, full on project coordinator. It’s pretty hard to make it in the field. You can definitely live comfortably especially if your spouse works but no new cars or boats or fancy houses.

EMT/Paramedic, firefighter, or police officer. I know where I live in St. Louis county the first responders out there make a starting salary at around $65,000 and some over $100,000 the city first responders don’t make as much but they get more action. I know some people join the city for experience and transfer to the county. It goes for police, fire, and ems. I’m studying to be a paramedic/firefighter right now and I know a lot of first responders. And I joined EMT school straight out of high school.

This was suppose to be about high paying jobs that don't require a degree. However, to be an RN registered nurse, you need at least 4 years of college. To be an electrician you may not need a degree, but you do need schooling, the same applies to paralegals. He said a web developer may require an associates degree, duhh isn't that a degree. Most of these jobs require schooling, maybe not 4 years of college but a minimum of 6 months education.

Ever since I came to high school my plans changed I honestly want a job that I'm good at I don't want to stress and ruin myself to become a surgeon and be miserable. One I highly recommend that requires no degree is to be a commercial driver License CDL. If you get your class A you can operate bus, truck, heavy construction vehicles, trains, subway trains.
Me as a trucker I make 60k yearly and can max at 80k but if I wanted to I can make 100k thru the company I work for.
Can learn off of someone who owns a truck and is willingly to teach you for like roughly 300$. Work for a truck company as a forklift and get into their school for a couple of months and get it free but you are contracted to work as a driver for them for a year as a way of paying off them getting your CDL. And lastly either go to your local unemployment building and ask them for training and see if they offer CDL course and the state will pay for it( Maryland does this but only for your B license) or shop around what you are willing to travel to for a community college that has this course and charges you less then 2500$ but offers a certified trainer that not only teaches you how to operate but once you pass in his eyes all you have to do is go and pick up your license and the class is only a month to a few weeks.
Never ever ever sign up to school that want nearly 10k of student loans and nearly 9 months of your time just to get your CDL. It’s a total rip off and not needed as your main experience is going to be when you are out on the road. It’s all about getting your license in hand first and you are set.
Welcome to middle class folks.

Christopher Winstanley (20 days ago)
I'm being honest. I'm on the retirement scale (almost good few years until). It's interesting the jobs that are mention in this video. For a long time employers have not been swayed with degrees. Unless the discripution depicts it. The job market is losing that theory in degrees and more work ethics. Most vacancies are hidden.. So making research into companies determines where that hidden vacancy is. Needed is a good solid base (educational) because the employers more swayed with commitment rather anything lengthy.

One would be pretty dumb to spend $280k for a typical professional degree. State public universities might cost total about $80k w/o aid and a lot less with aid. Invest in your future and get a sought after professional degree. It'll pay off. And don't rely on 10% outcomes. Real estate agents earn on any about $45k/yr. This video talks about the big fish only.
Stats show that an avg college grad earns $1 million more over a lifetime than an avg high school grad.
But remember, nothing comes free. There's a cost for anything that has value.

Dental Hygienist need to go for 4 years to ensure a good pay, I am a nursing major and both are similar in which you can do a short 2 year or less program but when it comes down to it those that are hiring will always look for those with the University degrees, because those schools have competitive programs which means they only pick the top students to enter their program and have the other wait a year or semester to become “good” as well. It’s a rough major but that’s how the future of nursing and dental hygiene is looking

You can study online and teach yourself website design and development. Okay, maybe computers aren’t for everybody but the basics are pretty easy and then you can learn more from there. On average when I was working full-time as a web designer/developer I was making around $100 an hour which is not uncommon here in Hawaii.
I’ve become disabled and so since I had some extra time on my hands I started attending the University of Hawaii and slowly but surely I’m on my way I am doing what I really want to do and that is to become an Oceanographer. Very hard and I wish everyone the very best, aloha😉
BTW, IT workers in general are in very high demand!
