Always wondered why small cameras are not installed within segments of the aircraft, looking back from the cockpit, so pilots could see damage that occurs.

I grew up one mile from McDonnell Douglas headquarters and assembly plants in Long Beach, Ca. With their DC-10 tragedies and the MD-80 series problems, didn't needlessly they kill a bunch of people with their shoddy designs? Shameful.

You earthlings have done a marvelous job in the air technology but you only seem to learn your lessons thru terrible accidents that could more often then not be prevented. We The Space Brothers have concluded you earthlings make too many assumptions and take much for granted. Until you’ve learned to be more conscious about your technologies we will not allow you to fly in space endangering all of the space crafts flying around your planet. We can not safely conduct our “research” of your planet while having to worry about you earthlings crashing into everything up here! Maybe in another decade or so we will see if you have advanced enough to be allowed to hang out with us in space. Thank you ~ yours truly The Space Brothers 🤪😁

Please keep making videos of planes that made it home safely. I am scared s#/+less ot flying after viewing the other videos. Hahaha

These videos are very well done, thank you for all you do to recreate these stories. I do have some constructive feedback, though: please could you not capitalise the captions as capital letters makes it harder to read, and a little more attention to grammar and punctuation would also help in understanding the narrative. All together, I would recommend these videos to anyone. Thanks again for all your efforts.

Slight correction this incident was near where i live, and if the cable system had been damaged it would have crashed. When are you going to make videdo's any of the many many 747's that everyone on board lost. Not bombs youa know they had more problems than the 10's did just belong to a syndicate cult and have the facts hushed while competitors have theirs dangled in front for the next 45 + years. Thousands on 747 lost and hardly a negative word... Not from explosives either...
Pilot was an absolute truly inspired BADASS!!!

Good job captain ! DC 10's are notorious for their flaws in design. A broken metal piece from DC-10 was responsible for Concorde crash in Paris, France in July 2000.
Ransom Prigg (1 month ago)
It was about to crash but it didn't, sounds like they were disappointed. At least they made good time.
Jon Rabben (1 month ago)
The pilots did a great job of saving the people on board despite the design flaws which later crashed planes. After the Sioux City crash I simply refused to fly on one until the problems were fixed. That made me extremely popular with my agency's travel office, which had contract flights that travelers had to take. I exchanged my tickets for other aircraft types and told my travel director once to go ahead and write me up (he never did). You have to be alive in order to get jacked up by bureaucrats. I chose to stay alive.

DC-10's have had more structural faults causing near misses and disasters. Since the 1980's aviation in commercial airlines have improved to the point where it is probably the safest time to fly in the 21st century than any other time in commercial aviation history. All because of the mistakes of pilots and handlers and pilots. But also because with every mishap they learn something. Planes no longer fly by years but by how many hours they are in the air. Short hops are more dangerous because of frequent take-off's and landings the stress on the plane is greater.

With the rudder stuck it was brilliant to apply full reverse thrust on one engine while idling the other.

Whitney reached over and took control of both throttles, simultaneously pushing the right wing-engine throttle full forward and the left wing-engine throttle into full-reverse thrust, delivering 10 percent more power and forcing the jet to swing to the left, on a return course to the runway. It hurtled along, with two sets of wheels on the runway and the other two off. When it finally stopped, half the wheels were on concrete and half on grass, with more than 980 feet of runway to spare. The first officer on this flight was the hero; he took over this plane's landing and the controls early than mentioned, so I am doubting your source of facts here. I knew the first officer well when he lived in Chicago area. His name is not Peter; it is Paige W. he lives in Las Vegas; Retired Captain. He also had, at one time the black box recording of this event. There was luggage that fell out in Canada, and Canada did not want to release it without AAL paying duty for the luggage and/or lost cargo. Since Paige was originally from Canada, he was furious Canada had the audacity. I know the details of this event, and how a flight attendant's life was saved when she was sucked in to the cargo hole and the reason she lived; a cargo bin was sucked to the hole and kept her from being going out.

One thing I'd never do is fly a foreign airline. A German guy locks himself in the cockpit then deliberately crashes the plane and other pilots don't have the experience needed to fly these multi-million dollar planes. It's too dangerous.

I_H8_Unknown_Callers (1 month ago)
This fight crew, with barely 75 hours of fight time in this aircraft each, should be awarded like an instant 1000 hours after saving this plane and everyone on board with their amazing skills and tweaking the remaining controls the way did to stay in control! Outstanding!

Tri-Jets are so beautiful and there's a few in development but so often they suffer failures, perhaps a sign of the technology in their heyday. But IDK the Scientologists know that space DC-10s brought us to earth and dropped us in volcanoes?

Wasn't there a similar incident on a DC10 departing from Paris some years ago when the same series of events occurred but the collasing flor resulted in a few rows of passengers being sucked out of the aircraft.

I don't like to fly but I've watched a lot of documentaries that said, if it wan't for the pilots taking over the controls by shutting off the auto-pilot, almost all those flights would have ended up in a fatal crash. My hats go off to the pilots. With all the new technology, it sometimes causes more problems for pilots who, just as in this flight, had no idea what all was going on. They had good flight attendants on board, well trained with fast thinking because this wasn't going to be a long flight anyways, so the experienced crew, inside the cockpit and attendants saved everyone's lives.
