they do not have a machine that dispenses tape. They actually have a tape gun and it sucks!!
Shera DiVito (8 days ago)
Oh man, is it a small building? I don't see how they cant have those tape machines like we did. Trust me, they still have their sucky moments, with the water, and the stickyness...

I just got hired. Where can we keep our phones and belongings ? Because I don’t have a car to put my stuff in. I have to take a bus
Alex Atkinson (11 days ago)
Shera DiVito thanks a lot
Shera DiVito (12 days ago)
You should be able to keep it on you because you don't go out into the warehouse part on orientation day. And if not I'm sure they will have some place for you to put it.
Alex Atkinson (12 days ago)
Shera DiVito I meant to ask specifically for orientation. My orientation is Monday for 3 hours. In the email I received it says no personal belongings , call phones , box cutters etc. but I don’t have a car so I have to take a mixture of Uber and bus. I’m just wondering if I get there on Monday with my phone are they going to send me home or do they at least have somewhere I can put my phone that day. I already assumed I would have a locker for when regular work starts but the orientation day is unclear
Shera DiVito (12 days ago)
You can leave it in the break room hanging up or in a locker
Mary Boyer-Shaw (14 days ago)
Great video, thanks! It sounds like Citi, where production is so important except the goals are nearly impossible to reach. Every temp is treated like poo poo, while the permanent employees look down on them. The managers are in a constant state of confusion and mania, fearful of the higher ups walking through. I was a temp for about 9 months and did not apply for permanent work. It was a big competition to find out who would get hired for the various positions. Also I left because the warehouse smelled like mold and it made me cough a lot.
K.C. (15 days ago)
i’m late to this video but i’m going to be a seasonal associate and will work 20hrs a week (: it’s going to be my first job ever, so i’m expecting to be sore 😂 i’ve heard the center i’ll be working at isn’t bad at all. i’m excited! it’s hard work but with a company as big as amazon that is expected
Shera DiVito (15 days ago)
Congrats! You will do great I'm sure :)
Dra O (15 days ago)
Thanks for posting. You’re pretty. Anywho, amazon runs like a business SHOULD run. Much like the military. No one in their cell phones - minimal bathroom and lunch breaks - if you’re gonna get paid for 4 hours you’re gonna WORK 4 hours or they don’t need you. These are a few of the reasons why i have profited handsomely from their stock over the last few years.
Shera DiVito (15 days ago)
No problem, thank you :), and I agree

Oh yes that’s what’s up ,UPS is good for the main job .I meant to say I seem the end of this video when you were talking about the mean manager.I asked to because I been doing Amazon Flex lately.
Shera DiVito (21 days ago)
I get my share of internet hate from time to time but it won't bring me down. Yeah I still make videos you can see them all on my channel. I don't work at Amazon anymore, it was a 2nd job for me, my main job is for UPS.

People want their stuff when they order online they usually do not think about how they get their items they just want them now and fast plus not damaged. I've worked at Walmart fulfillment, target doing fulfillment & Amazon which each one is different now I left them all due to the companies greed not quality nor for the customer. I see Target losing a lot of online customers & money because when I picked the items most of them are not where they should be due to the fact customers place them elsewhere in the store so it is not at the location. I see why it is best to have a center where customers do not shop to get to the product & know it should hopefully be there. Most of these warehouses have dates of items that have expired and are still stowed. At Amazon people get write ups for not being productive when it is impossible to stow items because it is overfilled. Amazon seems to be a storage for items no one buys they make money monthly from people who sale through Amazon those items no one wants nor buys so the bins are too full to add anything. People work at these places because they want to be there those who do not, leave to find work elsewhere. Hopefully people know they should not be forced to work in a job they do not want to work at most of the workers I see do not really work they walk around and talk. They get their numbers because they take smaller items from others and that is how they keep their job and low rates while others work hard and get written up than fired . These companies will always stay in business because people will work there nothing anyone can do unless people stop supporting these type of businesses which will never happen because people want stuff. I have a business to help people start college by helping them apply to school & get them financial aid many have started their own companies & now have better careers. These jobs are to help you get a start while going to school or help pay bills but mostly these types of warehouse jobs are temp & people are replaceable to these companies which is why it is best to start your own business and get paid doing something you enjoy.

lol the Amazon where I worked in sucked ass, I’ll never forgot how they made us stand outside for almost two hours in late December it was like -4 outside at night, they actually were in the paper the next week cause a lady was pregnant and they refused to let anyone go to their car for our coats, all because of a fire drill training exercise. Just found an article about what happened it was actually in November and 24f with a wind chill all I know is that was cold as heck outside I was in gym shorts and a short sleeved shirt. http://www.safetynewsalert.com/amazon-sued-after-it-left-workers-out-in-the-cold/

I did my drug test/paperwork end of Oct...... My start date was supposed to be Nov 9th. When I didn't hear anything I called they said I passed everything and they were waiting for a start date I'm like 🤦🏽‍♀️. Then they said oh the days and time you originally picked is not available. Then they changed to another start date and STILL NOTHING. Hell the holiday season will be over soon. I'm about to start looking for something else......sucks!
Shera DiVito (28 days ago)
It will take even longer if you start the whole process over somewhere else. I'm sure they will start you soon, there's still 6 or 7 weeks of good working time to be had.

First off you should get an hour lunch not a half an hour by the time you go through security which takes about 5 minutes just to get out if you want to go smoke same thing 5 minutes getting back in you only get about 20 minutes lunch same with a 15-minute break that you get the time you get out and get in you only get 5 minutes out
Ray890 (17 days ago)
I simply get two 30 minute breaks per shift at the Canadian warehouse I'm at, it's a pretty small fc too so it takes only about 2-3 minutes to walk from my outbound/packing workstation to security, then I just walk through the express screener to skip the lines, all without hesitation as I'm one of those few people who actually doesn't have a problem carrying no metal on me whatsoever

What are the chances of Amazon hiring you permanent i just started 3 weeks ago as a seasonal associate ????
o16s (1 month ago)
+Shera DiVito thank you so much
Shera DiVito (1 month ago)
Nah that's good. They won't move you to another area until you've mastered the first one. So it's good if they move you around and teach you more things, they know you're capable. The more you know the more valuable you are. Permanent spots offered will be limited come the end of the holiday season so just keep doing your best. Sounds like you are one the right track, keep it up :)
o16s (1 month ago)
+Shera DiVito well they mainly have me uploading i picked a few times and think i did good but only picked like 2 times now they have me unloading is that a bad sign ?
Shera DiVito (1 month ago)
If you make your rates and really seem to grasp the work there I'd say pretty good. Consider your time as a seasonal associate as one long job interview.

I keep watching these reviews & almost all say “the pay is good”, but all have said they made between $11-$14/hr... how is $23k-$29k/yr good pay?? Are most other places paying far less??
Dra O (15 days ago)
If she’s making 26k working part time at AMZN - and it covers her family’s living expenses or gas or food or whatever, it’s a win-win. If she also works at UPS, that’s likely at least 30-35j/ year. Plus, I imagine her spouse works, too. Her salaries pay for living - his for saving/investing - triple win-win. Depends on your area of the states re: cost of living, too.
Shera DiVito (1 month ago)
I'd say it was good for a PT seasonal, 2nd job, but as far as being good enough as your only job, probably not, unless you're fulltime. They just now changed their starting rate to $13/hr, so they are going in the right direction. I made $13 but only because it was an overnight shift. And you get a ton of overtime during the holidays so you're bring home some pretty nice paychecks each week. But again, that's only during the holidays, they cut way back during the rest of the year.

How can you say this is good pay if you live in or near Seattle? Am I correct that Amazon is strictly over that way? I was looking up how much it costs to live over there and wondered how the hell y'all survive.
Lizzie Martin (1 month ago)
Haha I'm an idiot ..I've been looking it up and didn't realize how big Amazon was. I should have known because every internet junkie buys there so I don't know what I was thinking. I also knew it was a billion dollar company but somehow i missed something lol.

Im thinking of this job because im stuck at a call center which sucks bad. Getting yelled at by disgruntled customers 10 hours a day is not my idea of fun when earning slightly above minimum wage. I wish we still had factory jobs like they used to in the early 80's before they all went overseas. Perfect job for not having to really interact with the public.

Shera DiVito (1 month ago)
They offer permanent employment to a very small number of people since the rest of the year is not as busy as the holidays. They offered it to me but it would have interfered with my main job so I turned it down.
Jaster Mereel (1 month ago)
You said the first break was 3 hours into the shift. I am looking at an Amazon posting for a 4 hour shift. Do they make you take a break for 4 hour shifts? Or can you just clock in, work 4 hours, clock out and go home?
Shera DiVito (1 month ago)
I think anything under 5 hours you get a 10 min break

I have experienced in heavy labor jobs like amazon. I think long hours? like she mentioned should not be required but if your young? & want to work long hours in a place like Amazon? UPS? or FEDEX? etc etc have at it Jobs like these is not for the OLDER PEOPLE that's a WARNING. if you think your going to handle those 60lbs boxes & up ++ all day 11hrs & take it like a champ at the age of 35yr+ ? you better be ready for back pain. I seen Young people get tired Jobs like that? is for people that love WORKING OUT at the GYM!! oh the good old days when I went to the Gym like Kavanaugh I go to work at a place like amazon & lifted 80lbs+ boxes 10x in 5 minutes pumped like a steroid addicted & Kavanaugh & SQUI & PJ & Mark Judge was there & we all like BEER!! :) just pulling your legs but I have experience in working in those jobs & best be WARNED you should be Gym FIT for the JOB & Young if you are young? it's better. if your older? than make sure you have intelligence because your old frailed body? will not handle the long hours & heavy lifting trust me you will look like my mom on a tired break :)
Pablo Escobar (2 months ago)

WM Luna (2 months ago)
What's your MBTI / Myers-Briggs? Curious to know since you had a successful Amazon experience of sorts. Amazon warehouse work seems like it leans more towards the Sensor types, but I could be mistaken. I know MBTI is not an exact science, but it does lend insight.
Shera DiVito (2 months ago)
Haha that's awesome. Give it a try sometime, sounds like you'd do well with it. Sometimes they play music over the loud speakers too. Either way it is pretty interesting :)
WM Luna (2 months ago)
Wow, I kind of thought that. Dedicated worker type, for sure. I used to be married to an ISTJ. *NOT* a match lol I am an ENTP - not sure that I would survive Amazon. But the whole thing intrigues me in the experiment factor. To apply for sh*ts and giggles and see how long I can actually make it. What I can get away with, too. 😋 I'm not a stranger to manual work and I love working 3rd shift, but I do like varied work in the midst of staying busy. I always listen to podcasts and audiobooks while doing so though. My brain needs the stimulation, so no electronics/phone would be HARD. Thanks for the super quick response and all the insider details like the Ben and Jerry's, cliques, and gift card challenges, etc. You're the first I've seen speak to those specifics. Good to know.

Angie Martinez (2 months ago)
+Shera DiVito Thank You ☺
Shera DiVito (2 months ago)
The people that make it seem bad are the ones who aren't cut out for warehouse work to begin with. If it sounds like something you'd be good at give it a try and decide for yourself :)

I am in a wheelchair, and have a lot of weakness in my left arm. would I be able to do this job?
Shera DiVito (1 month ago)
It might be...You press a button on the tape machine and it spits out a strip of wet tape the length you need, and then you just smooth it onto the box to seal it.
George Alexander (1 month ago)
One more question if you don’t mind. How are the boxes Taped up? Because of my disability I could have a hard time with that. I could put items and padding into the boxes with no problem, but taping up the boxes might be an issue for me.

The time clock thing has made me mental. There should also be a grace period time. Do they write you up for clocking in early?? LOL. So stupid. I'd rather them pay me a decent rate than feed me. I don't eat all that garbage food, so that means nothing to me. I wouldn't mind working in a place like that as long as rates aren't unrealistic and people aren't harassing me.
