Pacific Northwest Truck Museum Mini-Freightliner

1008 ratings | 380991 views
The mini (half scale) hand built Freightliner being unloaded at the ATHS National Convention 2016. It runs and drives and has a 6BT Cummins engine. It is just like a full size truck in most ways, just downscaled.

Is it for kids or you still need a CDL

Mini 2/3rd scale Freightliner FLT8664T Cummins 6BT Engine 5 Speed Manual Transmission Air Brakes (so you need an air brakes qualification to drive it) Entirely Road legal, so if you managed to buy it you could drive it daily (though I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a shop to support it and a live in a rural area, though Freightliner could make a killing if they made some different versions of these commercially. Was hand built by Ken Self (I believe that's his last name), one of the former CEOs of Freightliner, with the help of the machine shops, and he designed this specific cab. Far as I know he took this mini and traveled with it, and donated it to the Museum either before or after he died, the details are a bit fuzzy.

I met the builder many years ago, he was a retired Freightliner CEO and IIRC he was also missing an arm. That truck was sooooo cool, I wish I had taken pictures when I saw it.

The post I made on Hank's Truck forum about it. It's actually modeled after the 8164T. Either way the rest of the information still stands for the most part. There is a picture of the plaque on the thread for informational proof. https://hankstruckforum.com/htforum/index.php?topic=79198.0

2/3 Scale
Ian Olson (3 months ago)
Also if it was half scale it would be half as wide as the trailer, and it's bigger than that by a long shot. It's got the width of a smart car man.
Ian Olson (3 months ago)
+Red Bluesome Half scale is WAY smaller, just look up the Peterbilt Mighty Mites. There is also a sign board plaque that sits with it in the Pacific NW truck museum that says it's 2/3 scale. I would assume that the Pacific NW people know more about this than the video creator.

crume100 - Description says 1/2 scale, looks it too.
