Good Report, but the background music was terrible . sounds of the ship in motion, along with the weather would have been better

My Philippine Journey (1 year ago)
I saw lots of Filipinos onboard. I also saw lots of Bangus fish and rice! Is there a balance of American style foods as well? I think I would starve there. Do they allow smoking onboard? I quit my captain's job in the Gulf due to smoking allowed on deck and throughout the vessels.

Food looks pretty scarey and low budget. Cook whatever sticks to the hull of the ship scarey. I think I'd starve. Haven't they heard of roast beef and potatoes? Hamburger and fries would be a step up from slimy fish.
My Philippine Journey (1 year ago)
The fish you saw is Bangus, (milkfish) the national fish of the Philippines. With a ship staff of many Filipinos on board, it is what they normally eat; fish & rice. I hope they have western style foods as well.
Microblitz (1 year ago)
They have scrapeing machines!! That's cheating! Wheres the chipping hammer and handscraper?

Sir plz tell me TORM and TORM A/S company is different or same company ?
Michał Rodak (1 year ago)
Yo man. It's the same. A/S is just an acronym meaning what kind of company it is, from administrative side. In this case is means joint-stock company in Danish language.

Really enjoyed this video - thank you for sharing Michal !
If this video showing your daily routine on board, for sure you are not a real seaman yet. The totally absense of safety at every step on deck is significant! Anyway you are on bulk and the word SAFETY is uknown on such vessels. I think you are OS or somethink similar. Change your culture. It is not everything " so happy" with a camera on your hands. Very very friendly , A Ship Master
That Chris (1 year ago)
I like this. Not like working on a people hauler (cruise ship) where as a Marine Tech you live and work down in the hull not ever knowing if it’s day or night.
Fernando Puri Licas (1 year ago)
painting painting it's a big ship excelent video
Captain Wittering (1 year ago)
Bad advert using a grinder without goggles, and there's even a sign right in front of you. Still it's your eyesight I suppose. Other than that nice vid so people can see how we live.
Vagabondo5591 (1 year ago)
Grinder .... where are your safety googles/glasses? Like driving hands free of phones/cameras.

Great video! Memories of my trips... I miss them! .. Errmmm, Strongly suggest you wear eye protection....especially when using the grinding wheel? The safety sign said it.. Wear safety goggles dude✔️ you've only got one pair of eyes 👀
alohawg (11 months ago)
That's right- I cringed at that part. Otherwise decent snapshot of life on deck at sea.
Byron Gonzalez (1 year ago)
Gotta follow them OSHA safety standards lmao

How much does an electrician get on board a merchant ship?

@Martin Skeen ye but on cargo ship not on cruise ships
Martin Skeen (11 months ago)
I worked on merchant ships for 19 years during 1960s & 1970s. 14 hours a day split into 3 shifts.. Food was good , wages were not!. I only stayed so long so I could get some pension. Most merchant seamen end up with no family relation ships being away from home for too long End up with nothing .
