Is there anybody who knows why Musk didn’t invent solar panels on roofs of his cars? Wouldn’t that be the most optimalized solution? Perhaps some technical barriers with solution that could be only discovered

Uh, explain to me why the price of oil is more important than the Earth's capability of sustaining human life? I must have missed that one.
Rok Podlogar (1 year ago)
i guess it's about forcing the flow in the desired direction.
C Daug. (4 years ago)
Understandable.  However, I am unsure about why we have chose an economic system that is predicated upon a dynamic that calls for high levels of environmental exploitation and destabilization until the price of oil reaches a certain value. It is like our health should depend on the price of medicine (which, unfortunately, is the reality we live in).  A further advanced civilization would be critical.    I understand that oil companies are myopic and have no purpose in life other than to maximize profits irrespective of the state of the planet and its societies.  I assume that greater alternatives exist to the current way of living that would increase the standard of living for everyone while bringing our levels of consumption into a more equal relationship with the environment.  I also assume that these alternatives pose a threat to the profit of those myopic oil companies.    I am curious about what the research budget of projects that seek out these alternatives is compared to the research budgets of projects that seek to further the agenda of the oil companies. My guess is that the latter greatly overshadows the former...greatly.

+Cash Daugherty Thanks everyone - just to clarify.  When oil prices rise above $100 a barrel, even the greatest climate sceptics become converts to green tech - Finance Directors of large corporations find that saving energy, helping the environment, actually directly saves costs.  And the higher the price of oil, the more careful and responsible humans are likely to be about using up this limited resource, and about pumping the atmosphere full of more C02.

Yeah, I figured.  I'm very familiar with TVP and TZM.  I just find some of the stuff that this guy says to be shocking; the whole financial industry has lost sight of its own context within the global evolution of human beings.
Athletics (4 years ago)
This guy is saying that money is more important than the environment. A resource based economy is an alternative.

I would say use every shopping trip as a learning experience. Get out there and talk to people: what arrives when, how do they order, what happens when things don't arrive on time. Talk to pharmacy owners and local garages who both enjoy in many countries same day delivery which is unusual for other sectors.

@barnamania Interesting - it used to be the same in my part of London when I grew up. Many local shops had a delivery boy on a bicycle. I used to be one for the local butcher when I was at school.
