You could put white paper behind the material so that you can see your marker ink better.

+Profajl Nejm Well ok,both of US polite OK.Bye!
Phobe Laxu (2 years ago)
+AliyaTheChessPlayer Honestly, it would be fun. Because I have no idea who would win. Because from your comments you both come across as overly polite, and also as irrational and controlling, behaviours that can hinder someone in their trying to be polite. So again, it would be fun for me. Personally, if you want to take my word for it, i AM polite whatever you may have thought earlier. Just because I swear a lot doesn't mean i'm a bad guy lol.

+Profajl Nejm Seriously! No way profajl, that's a dumb decision.
Phobe Laxu (2 years ago)

What if I wanted to make it, like, whiter than the wall on the back?  Would it be a good idea to lay this on a piece of white wood, do you think?
Barry Ale (4 years ago)
LOL! Imagine if you are walking into class and you are like "Okay time to show who's boss!" *rolls out clearfain* *starts drawing*...*class looks at you* *Teacher wonders why you could have used the whiteboard*...

Does anyone know the English equivalent to clearphane? The brand name doesn't seem to live over here
Phobe Laxu (2 years ago)
+ESL Classroom-on-the-GO! I bought , according to the label, cellophane, and it works as a whiteboard. So was this petroleum based?
ESL Classroom-on-the-GO! (4 years ago)
You want cello-propylene on the roll -- a florist supply (or party / baker supply) will carry this product, it is the "crinkly paper" used to wrap flowers, baked goods, gift baskets, etc. You do not want "true cellophane" (which is made from organic cellulose) because that will not be waterproof (the dry-erase marker will "soak in" and not erase properly) -- but you do want a petroleum-based cellophane such as polypropylene which will be a good eraseable surface for your dry-erase markers. Cellophane comes in film thickness 1.4 mil to 2.0 mil -- you want the thicker 2.0 mil if you can find it at a good price. Or a local florist may sell you a sheet or two, cut off of their long roll? Good luck!

or buy whiteboard paint and paint your walls.
UtahTabby (6 years ago)
The only problem is, most American homes have a textured wall surface, not completely flat. Mine has 'orange peel' which would make writing wobbly and difficult to read. I suppose offices are different. And you could always put the Clearphane over a white Masonite-type board and hang it.
twistedkane138 (6 years ago)
does anyone know if this tares easy?
Whazza (6 years ago)
Maybe it is long but it if you use that little "seek" button you can skip to the important parts. True, he could drop some edits in there but big-deal. Thanks for the pro tip sir.

it works!!! thanks

Worked great, I used some window plastic though from miejers, $8 for huge roll, enough to do windows and 2 white boards. You can put white poster board behind it if you want it more white, but the roll I got from miejers had white tissue paper behind it , so I kept it behind the plastic, works perfect! I made mine about 6 feet by 4 feet, great for drawing up ucc and common law stuff!

I will use this in my room for graphic organizers. Students love to write on the wall and can do "word" maps using vocab. Cheap and easy...teachers love that!

I was waiting for your roommate to rush through the door, only to end up with you stabbing yourself through the heart. I'm very glad that didn't happen and that this isn't yet another cheapskate office equipment snuff movie.
Philipp Smirnov (9 years ago)
I find this a great technology. Thanks a lot for posting this video

There's also cheap boards you can buy in the bath/shower section of your local home improvement stores. Though not quite as cheap or as flexible as this solution.
