I talked to ups drivers and they say they are not worried about amazon jumping into this. There's more than enough business for everyone. From what the drivers tell me they're inundated with so many packages they can barely deliver them in time and this is non holiday season.

They can't touch USPS... if the do, im sure the government will go in to attack mode
MrHoppers002 (13 days ago)
the usps is subsidized by the us government. It can run at a loss longer than any one company can stay solvent. It's not comparing apples to potatoes. If anyone should be worried it should be ups and fedex since they're solely private companies. and if amazon goes its own way fedex and ups lost a big customer.

I was Amazon delivery driver until I very recently became a FedEx ground driver. To make a very long story short UPS is a top flight professional organization, their drivers go through the best training in the world. UPS and FedEx have all the planes and all the trucks. UPS in particular has more trucks than anyone else. Amazon hires drivers off the street with no experience and zero training at all, they are completely amateur compared to UPS and FedEx. There is no way Amazon could ever overcome UPS or FedEx and that's the bottom line.

Amazon will not win
MrHoppers002 (13 days ago)
it doesn't have to win it just cobbles up some of the marketshare for itself. Basically amazon wants a slice of the pie in anything worth getting.

I like the view

Bwhahhahhzhhzhaaa.... what a fucking joke. First off, I've had nothing but nightmares with Amazon's logistics delivering service. Every time amazon uses these clowns to deliver their prime one day delivery service it results in miss deliveries. They hire Monkeys that are crackheads and illiterates that don't know how to read a fucking simple GPS to locate your address. I've complaint to Amazon so many times of such poor Amazon logistics delivery service and they ended up removing their Amazon logistic service as their carrier when they ship to my address. Amazon logistics will never take UPS and Fedex out of business due to their poor delivery service using Amazon Logistics. Fucking joke.

Our oldest son is a UPS Delivery Driver. UPS is not hurting for business at all, thus far. Our son begins work at 9 a.m., and tonight he was finally able to clock out at 9:07 p.m. He has has quite a few days where he is not able to clock out until 10:30 or so due to having an extremely overloaded truck. Some days he gets lucky and gets out of work by 8:15. He worked so many hours between October and mid January (the Christmas season,) that he just paid cash for a new Camero! He delivers in a pristine area in Los Angeles County, and they purchase a lot of items. Amazon may be attempting to be the Master of all, but they may end up biting off more than they can chew. Who knows? Time will definitely tell. : )
callofdutyguy9 (8 months ago)
UPS, FEDEX and USPS need to absolutely refuse to pickup and deliver any Amazon packages and there will be no way Amazon will be able to deliver even a fraction of there volume in a timely manner. They will literally have month long waiting lists to move trailers to there destinations. This the way to sink put Amazon in their place.
MrHoppers002 (13 days ago)
ups, fedex, and usps wouldn't be foolish enough to cut out amazon since they are a paying customer. Granted they have lower than market value rates. However they have volume that no one else can compare to.
TechGod69 (9 months ago)
Amazon is playing in so many spaces but not monopolizing any one. This is quite a disruptive time where goods and services costs are decreasing due to efficiencies but wages are stagnant. You can buy more stuff but is your life really getting better?
MrHoppers002 (13 days ago)
best to avoid buying too much stuff that doesn't add any value to ones life.

Even if all they end up doing is shipping Amazon product to Amazon customers in urban areas, it should result in huge savings for the company. I don't think it will have much effect on the other carriers. I saw in another article Amazon has set up the same last mile deal with USPS as the other companies.

just like i had thought . its good to have competition . putting out of business i hope not .
Caren Green (9 months ago)
Not to spout too much unmerited doom and gloom, but I'd anticipate this being a colossal blow to ebay.

All I know is by us in Illinois, USPS fulfills most of Prime deliveries. Even on Sundays. I see USPS prices going up again if they lose Amazon as a shipper. That will end up affecting us.
Illinois Picker (9 months ago)
could help in regard to less packages being shipped through USPS (thus helping eBay).
Shane Cody (9 months ago)
Any competition within the courier services is good for us, it will drive prices down, period! I can't wait to see it put a brake on the out of control rate increases across the board!
Thorganby001 (9 months ago)
I hope not! The amount of people losing their jobs and related businesses the two shipping companies will also need to lose people. Think of software companies etc. The govnerment will stop this I hope. I do not like to see businesses go out of business! As a consumer we still pay the shipping price.
MrHoppers002 (13 days ago)
the united states anti trust laws are dubious at best. It's really hard to pin down companies for "monopoly" and even if it does get into litigation these big companies have enough money to tie up the government in courts for years. Also companies go out of business all the time, some new company will take their place. The average age of an S&P 500 company is under 20 years, down from 60 years in the 1950s. About two-thirds of business survive 2 years in business, half of all businesses will survive 5 years, and one-third will survive 10.
Resell Mel (9 months ago)
I think their definitely going to hurt them but only by so much. As far as shutting either one of them down, not going to happen. Thanks for the video of the beautiful Florida weather. I can't wait to get there in March! :)

Walmart has their own truck fleet with warehouses. This isn’t special to amazon in anyway unless they want to ship commercial freight that is non amazon. Also, are they good no to purchase a fleet of aircraft and all the infrastructure for expedited service like UPS and fedex? I highly doubt it. I’m sick of the limited marketplaces to sell on. Amazon needs some serious competition before there isn’t any. I guess jet.com is a good contender. Just sucks for us small sellers. Amazon, google, YouTube. No competition in any respective category. Damn government isn’t doing anything about monopolies anymore.
Treasure Hunter (9 months ago)
If the Post Office raises their rates to Amazon then most likely UPS and Fedex will do the same.
Treasure Hunter (9 months ago)
I think Amazon setting up their own shipping service is because they expect USPS to raise their rates to them due to what Trump said about Amazon at the end of 2017. http://amp.timeinc.net/fortune/2017/12/29/trump-amazon-post-office
Treasure Hunter (9 months ago)
I think Amazon setting up their own
kingdavid772 (9 months ago)
I knew this would eventually happen....FedEx and UPS are toast lol
MrDballmoney (9 months ago)
This is a horrible idea. And I mean Horrible. I am sure there is antitrust laws being violated in this. They can eventually monopolize, well everything! The Taxpayers pay Amazon every time someone buys from Amazon. Aka, Amazon has tax payers subsidize the shipping costs. That's bad news. Every package someone buys from Amazon, it kills America. It's like the Walmart model but it's like the plague. Walmarts prices are going up because they killed the competition. Walmart is turning up the AC in the summer and not heating up the stores in the winter. They are giving some wage increases, but closed more stores. They are eating themselves, same with Amazon. Their warehouse workers are almost in 3rd world conditions, same with Walmart. Both have a Race to the Bottom model, you know this. Customers might save money for a few years but it won't be long before they put a shipping company out of business then the costs will rise. More than likely, they'll absorb UPS or USPS. They are going to launch their own Healthcare plan as well! Given how they treat their employees, I can't imagine how bad their insurance will be. I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but it's fact. Amazon has was never a profitable business. They exploit everything and take all the riches for themselves.
Timmy Carl (2 months ago)
How can u tax amazon. They are not even a government.
Melissa Frances (9 months ago)
wow I had not heard this info, thanks for the update
Bryan Biernat (9 months ago)
Of course they can do this shipping their own Goods alone is enough to make a worthwhile shipping business. That's the other point to. FedEx and UPS can't compete with shipping price because they're only business is the shipping so they got to make all their money that way Amazon creating a shipping business that shipping their own products is an advantage because they're getting a piece throughout the whole sale of Whatever item it is so of course they can ship it cheaper because the stuff they're shipping they've already made some money on. You're right about Amazon taking over the world but I think it would be a worthwhile debate especially in a few years if this continues on impeded as to whether that's a good or bad thing.
Hayseed (9 months ago)
Not even an issue. Almost everything sold on ebay that weighs more than 2 pounds is generally less expensive with fedex. Pretty soon people will catch on.
MidnightMoon-Chad (9 months ago)
All this is going to do is cause a hurting on FedEx, UPS and then USPS and we are all going to watch their rates go up as they realize the impact of the world's largest ecommerce company no longer using them. They will go up!
MrHoppers002 (13 days ago)
ups and fedex can increase their prices but if they increase too much than it will make certain companies that ship out very bulky items to eat into their bottom line and probably kill them off.
Re seller guy (9 months ago)

Not sure how much this news really impacted Fedex and UPS shares considering the market as a whole has been down the last week or so. I am sure it had some affect, just not as much as it is being made out to be. Regardless, I personally don't think Amazon has quite a full understanding of what is required to pull this off. There are huge barriers to entry. They may have some warehouses and are sitting on a lot of cash, but this is a huge risk that could result in a huge loss. This coupled with their new grocery and healthcare project, it could even be the beginning of the end for them if they fail. They seem to be trying to get their hands in to many things and may find that they tried to grow to quick. Even if they do succeed, are they just going to ship Amazon items, but not anything else? It sounds as if they are just eager to offer quicker, personally managed deliveries. I am a delivery driver for Fedex and contrary to popular belief, Amazon is only a sliver of the amount of overall packages that I deliever. The majority of Fedex's deliveries are from partnerships they have with various sized business'. From the small privately owned local business to major online retailers Fedex has diversified their customer base and I doubt Amazon will be a threat if they ignore that marker. Also, I think Ebay is beginning to resurge and as the marketing department revamps itself as it has been doing, more and more will soon realize that they offer competitive prices, and in many cases, better prices than Amazon.
Raving Junk Removal Entrepreneur (9 months ago)
Awesome video Casey. This information is not only good for resellers but as a small business owner in the logistics industry, this is relevant information. I don't think UPS is going anywhere but FedEx needs to worry.
RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)
Fedex is def 1st on the list.. agreed totally
Justin (9 months ago)
Usps will just continue raising rates no matter what happens. Fed ex and ups will have to adapt and become more competitive with the market that is cheaper than them.
RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)
yeah USPS is different packages and will keep going up and up till no-one can do it anymore

Around Orlando there are clusters of these mega warehouses going in with easy access to the interstates and the turnpike. One building alone has around 100+ loading docks for tractor trailers. There are at least 5-6 of these that I pass by weekly and plenty ajacent land already prepared for more. With all this construction, it looks like something big is about to happen. Could this be part of Amazon's plan. The wheels would already have been in motion when they announced their plans. Is this happening in other key locations around the country? Remember.....Walt Disney bought up all the land he needed secretly and cheap long before Disney World was announced back in the 60's. Another thought on Amazon. Where they will be discarding Fed Ex, UPS & USPS...... How long before they will also weed out all the small sellers in favor of only the big players? Mike

I️ say Good Luck Amazon. We own a career company and they may put a ding in UPS and FedEx but Will not put them out of business. Amazon is trying to make a monopoly and they will be stopped eventually. All giants eventually fall look at Kmart and Sears amongst many others. Back in the 90s everyone thought no one could touch them. Amazon bought their own trailers almost 2 years ago and we knew this was coming but trust me UPS and FedEx ship more then just small boxes. We knew eventually Amazon would get their own trucks it was just a matter of when.
Christian The Cobleskill Emporium (8 months ago)
Amazon is way larger than Sears and Kmart combined were in their prime. I was in management of Sears and they were broken

RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)

I say more power to Amazon. This is just what we need! More competition. USPS is ripping us off as eBay sellers! Can't wait!!! Hopefully it will give us more options too!!!!
MidnightMoon-Chad (9 months ago)
What it may do though is cause the rates to sky rocket for everyone though. They will need to make up the deficit somehow if AMZ pulls out of all of the big 3.
RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)
Yeah it won't help with that unfortunately..
Crazywaffle5150 (9 months ago)
Mike Martin Ebay won't use Amazon's service because ebay hates Amazon.

Amazon has had it's own shipping company for a couple years now. It is called Amazon Logistics. This really isn't anything new, they already use AMZL for many items shipped to areas with dense populations and/or near one of their distribution centers. If you've ever seen a TBAXXXXXXXXXX tracking number those are AMZL.
WooCommerce Dropshipping (9 months ago)
I understand, but they've been ramping up to this for a while. I know a couple drivers/contractors for AMZL and they've been talking about this for a few months now. They're taking there existing infrastructure and expanding it to support the public.
RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)
This is different. they are actually opening up facilities or altering them to handle a brand new shipping department .
Mark Pearson (9 months ago)
WooCommerce Dropshipping what’s new is that Amazon will sell shipping services to the public

RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)

Douglas Byram (9 months ago)
They have the infrastructure to do it, I say why not, more control over how their items are delivered is a plus if you cannot guarantee service with the other carriers especially during Q4.
RockstarFlipper (9 months ago)
Thats def part of the reason they are doing it. to control it themselves
LA's Mukbang and Vlog Channel (9 months ago)
Fed ex is partnered with GSK. They do all the shipping for the pharmaceuticals. Amazon can not become that shipping partner. So fed ex is in no danger at all. As far as Amazon, their major issue is they are growing too fast. Our local Amazon Warehouse is about to be shut because of major violations. They have had several employees get ran over and killed by forklifts. I will bet to say Amazon will not flourish much more and soon they will be a thing of the past just like ebay :)
