I worked at a fulfillment center in Illinois for 7 months at night. The most depressing experience I ever had working. Write ups were a joke. I got write ups for 6 errors out of 3000 counts. I was a counter. Once I got off of one write up, I was put on another. I tried to stay off of write ups so that I could change my job or get promoted to something else. It was impossible. When I started I saw my regular people at the breaks in the break rooms...after a few months I noticed those who stayed, started wearing braces and arm wraps etc... People were walking around injured from repetitive stress issues. I saw one poor person walk around and work in one of those "skiboots" foot casts. Amazon does not let anyone take enough time off to physically recuperate. After repeatedly not getting promoted for anything else, and getting constant write ups....I was happy I found another job. Horrible work environment.

Soo many Haters. This is the work America Needs right now. I'm an Amazon employee and trust me I've been every where in my 14 years of "actual work experience". There is A very good reason Uncle Jeff is the richest man in the world.

Have worked at Amazon for 8 months as an order picker. I am 63 yrs old, mostly working for the insurance coverage that begins on your first day. Costs me $50 per wk for wife & I to get full medical & dental coverage and life insurance. Very tough job for some, non-stop walking for 12 hr shift. Lost 35 lbs in first 6 weeks. Very high turnover. Had 165 new hires start with 150 of them quitting within a few days. Sounds easy to just "walk" for 12 hrs until you have to do it for consecutive days keeping up a 100 pc per hr pick rate. Overall a good company, lots of rules but easy to follow for a mature person.

80% of the products sold on Amazon is pure and simple absolute junk the other 20% that is sold on Amazon that come from well known named products is not worth buying any more the delivery that they quarantine never arrive 60% of the time don't know what really happened but they have gotten so much worse on their delivery I received boxes that were crushed ripped open left in pouring rain tracking showed it was delivered which I never got end up finding out it was delivered to my next door neighbor which he kept got police evolved and Amazon never corrected the problem I can sit here and go on with the issues that Amazon has going on lately it is a real shame lately with Amazon never ordering from them again I hope it's a temporary thing going on with Amazon maybe from rapid growth and trying new things and hopefully work out all of the issues they have going on.

"Fulfillment centre".... "units".... "associates"..... > Buckleys Chance < as we say Amazon.

Terrible interview format! Way, way too much face time of these guys and not enough of the equipment and movement of items. They could continue to provide narration but overall this is an awfully weak video for something like the Amazon monster.

so many people criticize Amazon, when it comes to working there.......but name a company, that offers all the benefits, hours and rewards that Amazon does. Amazon is not the problem, it's lazy people that want it all but put little effort into getting it. you want good hours, pay, rewards and benefits there's Amazon and for the rest there's McDonald's with their shitty hours and pay
Jack M (7 months ago)
There’s a lot of small business that do but Obama care made it tough and rerouted a lot of insurance providers making it difficult, does not affect Amazon their too big. Your scope is set on Fortune 500 companies.

I bet they say something to you on the days you are only at 110%
Juan Espinoza (7 months ago)
I work at amazon they keep raising there pick rates but dont raise there pay i hit 120% weekly and all i get is to vender bucks ive been there a year in a half and guess wat am not a lazy person
Belarion A.D. (8 months ago)
Amazon likes to make you think you're getting a great deal by getting benefits and shit like 15 minute breaks. That's legally required of any big company that employs full time though. They trick you into thinking they are some progressive, employee conscience company. Working there is dog shit... although I don't doubt it's any different from FedEX or UPS.
ExotiC FrequencY (9 months ago)
Amazon does do an amazing job sending products to you. They can send things to you in an instant! I love their book service kindle! They are a diversified company thats for sure...Jeff Bezos has build a beast company. I wouldn't want to work on the factory floor for forever though...there are more comfortable careers out there!

Amazon guy sounded like he was reading a script. Had nothing interesting to say.

I understand that Amazon are setting up warehouses here in Australia next year, I wonder if they'll work in this way when customers order things, or will they work in a different way?
Jon Barnes (2 months ago)
I hope that it is the same as it works brilliantly. We have friends in Australia and are hoping to be able to order for delivery in Sydney in time for Christmas.
CowTaurog (1 year ago)
Lachlant1984 They're all different. Based on needs, what they ship, where they ship, etc. But if they're building something new, it will be with the most modern tech.
