Amazon is a cult. I live in Seattle and he has taken over swaths of land, gentrified the city and smaller towns, raised home prices, raised traffic levels and, has done nothing for our increasing homeless population. He does not have any charitable operations in place unless, he see's some sort of benefit. He does not pay pickers or delivery drivers, as much as they deserve. And now he is using third party stressed out drivers, that are to deliver pkgs in ONE day, that way he doesn't have to pay auto insurance or medical benefits. He's pretty much loathed here in Seattle. And Yes, he is all about world domination. He's outsmarted and out maneuvered everyone. Even the state or Washington by not having to pay taxes.

The only reason a woman would sleep with a married man is the money. If you say gold diggers they exist because of wage slavery, women are always poorer than men, they’re even paid less for the same work. That’s wrong and that’s why we should have equal wealth worldwide, especially since it’s females who need the most money because they’re the ones with children! When females have plenty of money, then children’s lives are vastly improved!! There should be EQUAL WEALTH WORLDWIDE!

One box at a time... too small and damages the mint condition of an item in one box... and too big with no padding inside which damages the mint condition of an item in another box... but yeah, what a *great* place to get exclusives. 🙄

Jeff Besos is successfully Blessed because he has helped so many indigent people make money and he still is. I cannot list how many success stories I have listened to by former homeless and indigent people; I lost count. Now, he has just recently created a platform for us educators where we can supplement our incomes. Moreover, if you have a nonprofit organization, you can send in your 501c3 information and have Amazon sponsor it. However, if you do not have a nonprofit organization, you can choose your favorite charity on your Amazon account. Every time you purchase something on Amazon, it will donate a small percentage of your total to that charity in your name.

I know I was definitely one of his first customers. When I was in college, I bought my textbooks and other assigned books from Amazon. Moreover, when I started teaching, I still bought my books from Amazon.

Notice one thing in common with microsft and amazon how they got started? A few $100,000s...back in the 90's which is worth more today. Not demeaning that gates and bezos don't deserve their massive success (they also worked very hard) but the difference between them and other entrepreneurs that you have never heard of is that they didn't get that initial critical capital. Many other people even before them started PC companies/internet sales....except they didn't have the cash to explode.

Benjamin Roland Unions are for rabble rousers and bullies. Anyway, think bigger! Start your own company and aim to achieve the same success as Amazon.
Benjamin Roland (4 months ago)
@Paul Haynes im not negative i just like to shine light in very dark places like how this dude does not let his workers be in a union. Does this Guy not know that the only thing keeping the People from killing the rich is the unions. But hey let him stay rich and let the People do what they do Best when not in a union 😀
Paul Haynes (4 months ago)
Benjamin Roland He cheated nothing. He’s worked to build his business and followed the rules in place. If people don’t agree with the rules then that is not his issue. He’s work hard and taken many stressful chances to get to where he is. I’d suggest rather than spend your time criticising him, you spend that time building your own empire and switch the negative to the positive. Negative people never achieve positive results!
Benjamin Roland (4 months ago)
@Paul Haynes idiotic and true. How to use slave labor to get rich and the just cheat the system anyway you can.

You can’t buy liquor or cigarettes on Amazon
John Dooley (1 month ago)
I know exactly why. If you are worth $100bln you don't want even the remotest chance of a product liability lawsuit against you for selling items with any sort of health risk. If I were in their shoes I would also not sell fire arms, or any thing that could lead to a law suit in a big way. Years ago I worked for a very large multinational with similar aversion to risk and a huge attraction for workplace safety and procedure that was almost comical in its comprehensive scope and attention to detail. Reason being that it had almost $30billion in cash in surplus and was therefore very vulnerable to vexatious lawsuits.

cmartinez1089 (11 months ago)
I'd be so rich if i lived back then. Imagine being able to grow an online books business by word of mouth. Taking advantage of the bubble, and growing with it. Nowadays, everything is online and if you want to be noticed, you have to spend on marketing, and understand how to target customers correctly. None of which was in the equation back then. Jeff got very lucky. He got in at the right time. You cannot duplicate amazon now. You can't even compete.
cmartinez1089 (8 months ago)
jorge rivera Thanks for your meaningful comment. It’s always a breath of fresh air when someone can actually talk with class, without using the wrong instances of your and you’re. In any case, i’m very familiar in business. I’ve been at it for 5 years now, and meant no harm by this comment. There is definitely plenty of opportunity around us everyday! All it takes is action, work ethic, and relentlessness. What I was staying here is that timing was definitely on Jeff’s side. He confirms this in recent interviews by calling his stake in amazon “lottery winnings”. I do still feel that it was a lot easier in the market back then compared to today due to the tech boom, which means we all have to work a little bit harder and wiser. There’s definitely still billion dollar ideas out there, waiting to be claimed.
Daniel Aaron (8 months ago)
@cmartinez1089 whatever dude I don't like comments like that. Jeff is one of the most ambitious men of our day. Do not discredit it Congratulations on your business I too own a very successful business But there is a lot of opportunity everywhere. In the future the market will be more efficient and it won't be the case
cmartinez1089 (8 months ago)
Daniel Aaron You’re talking to a guy who has owned a business full time for over five years. I do very well for myself. I didn’t say it was all luck, but the tech boom was on his side. You can not argue with this, as Jeff himself has even called his stake in amazon “lottery winnings” time and time again. He knows he got in at the right time. There’s money to be made in any industry. That’s not what I was getting at.
Daniel Aaron (8 months ago)
@jorge rivera this person's comment on Jeff just being lucky makes me sick There is so much opportunity right now it's not even funny. This is. Prime example of a crybaby complainer that thinks life is too hard
jorge rivera (8 months ago)
Everything looks easy in retrospective. I can assure you that there are tons of opportunities right now just around the corner but still invisible to your eyes that people will see in retrospective in the future and say something similar to what you are saying. How many people you think lived at the same time Jeff was starting his business, no one seeing what you can now see looking back? Predicting the past is easy. Better try to discover patterns in today world that no one can see now and risk your time and money instead of lamenting not being able to take that "advantage" your self at the time. Yes, probably you cannot duplicate amazon now, but you can create something different, something new and revolutionary that doesn't exist yet and may worth millions or billions in the future.
