According to Ayurveda,Honey should not be heated. It changes it nutritional value. You can add honey when the drink cools down for better health benefits.Otherwise very good recipe

Just tried it with one pineapple. It turned out great, but definitely see the need for 3. Would probably be much stronger! Thank you!

If you twist the top part of the pineapple off, you can then put it in water (bottom of it) in a glass of water and re grow a pineapple, the top part of a pineapple re grows into a fresh pineapple Dont throw it away put it in a pot , you get a free pineapple ! :)

Tip: Wash the skins really, really well, as pineapples are known to have extreme amounts of pesticides, to the degree that it is advisable to wash hands after handling the skin. Don't take my word for it, research it! Can't wait to try this, though, preferably with an organic pineapple. Thank you for the lovely recipe.

@Tiffany Douglas Here is a great solution to use, according to https://steptohealth.com/wash-pesticides-off-fruits-and-vegetables/. If the link doesn't show up, here is the recipe for the solution: Ingredients: 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar (62 ml); 1 cup of water (250 ml); The juice of one lemon; 2 tablespoons of baking soda (20 g). Just soaking the pineapple in this solution is already better than not doing anything, but, for more impact, be sure to use a brush to get into all the crevices of the pineapple skin. Hope this helps. Stay healthy!

How do you recommend washing it?

It is better to juice the pineapple and drink the juice. I don't care for the pineapple skin tea and neither does my husband. Thank you anyway.

I watched your video on cutting the pineapple so had to watch this. I now MUST buy some pineapples! I can't wait to try this drink. I'm not much into sweet drinks, so I like that I can adjust this to my preference (probably just a little local honey...Mmm!) Thank you for the wonderful video showing how to make use of the whole pineapple!
Lasco Brown (4 months ago)
This is not pineapple drink, but SYRUP! THIS WILL BE TOO SWEET FOR BLOOD SPIKE AND INSULIN LEVEL. Do not use both sugar and honey...the honey is recommended.

We make a pineapple skin drink like this in Jamaica. 💖 I like to make mines with cloves, allspice, ginger, hibiscus (known as Sorrel in Jamaica or fleur de Jamaica in Mexico) and cardamom pods. I Make it without sweetener then when I pour myself a drink I sweeten that cup. It helps me to not over sweeten and everyone can choose their own level of sweetness.
Faizah Bodeen (3 months ago)
Do you soak the skin overnight or you boil as well?

Anna Lisa (6 months ago)
Better skin drink is in your JUICER. It gives fresh juice without cooking. Cooking and heat destroys enzymes- that's what bromelain is and heat destroys all pineapple bromilain...
D N (4 months ago)
@Anna Lisa Yes, but the pineapple pulp contains little or no pesticide, because it is stopped by the tough pineapple skin. The pineapple skin stops all or most of the pesticide from getting to the pulp, but a lot of pesticide gets trapped into the pineapple "eyes". This is why commercial pineapple skin should not be consumed. Unless you grow pineapples in your garden, with no toxic pesticides whatsoever.
Anna Lisa (4 months ago)
D N - yes you should ! And then tell us where to get pure pineapple never tainted by poisons. Don’t tell me that I scare you. Produce a report on what showering in average household water does as your skin absorbs it ....
D N (4 months ago)
Whoa! Don't do this! You scare me! Bromelain is all good, but if you bought it in the USA, do not eat the pineapple skin. I don't care if it's labeled "organic". It is full of pesticides and mold. Cannot wash/remove them effectively, especially that they penetrate the pineapple "eyes" which are impossible to wash/clean.  I should put this warning in a few more places.

Raquel Matsuda (7 months ago)
Nice. My only concern is if pineapples have any kind of chemicals spread on the skin
D N (3 months ago)
@Cayla Clement From eating pineapple skin one time you may not feel anything. Even if there is something like nerves, a muscle cramp or something with your tummy you might not pay attention to it. And in time, most of the poison eventually clears out of your body. But if you keep consuming it, in time it will poison you. Google the keywords: "Pineapple pesticide" and see for yourself. We should write to Dole, Del Monte and the other big pineapple plantation companies to quit using toxic pesticides that mar their workers and harm their consumers.  God Bless You.
Cayla Clement (3 months ago)
@D N thank you. i already made and drank this using a pineapple from the shop. lets hope i dont get poisoned :o)
D N (3 months ago)
@Cayla Clement Cayla, it's not the bacteria that makes the pineapple skins poisonous, it's the poisons they spray them with, which are very harmful to human health. Those chemical pesticides cannot be removed by washing and are neither removed nor changed by boiling. Also: molds are not washable and their toxins and spores are not destroyed by boiling. The only way to get rid of mold is through burning or using very harsh chemicals like concentrated peroxide, sulfuric acid and the like. None of these can be used on foods ... I hope none of you here will use commerial pineapple skins for food or drink. If you grow in your yard without pesticides, then the skins are great.
Cayla Clement (3 months ago)
the boiling will kill any bacteria etc wouldnt it?
D N (4 months ago)
If you bought it in the USA, do not eat the pineapple skin. I don't care if it's labeled "organic".  It is full of pesticides and mold. Cannot wash/remove them effectively, especially that they penetrate the pineapple "eyes" which are impossible to wash/clean. Cooking does not neutralize pesticides, but can turn them into even more toxic substances. And cooking does neither kill mold, nor neutralize its toxins. Maybe using the dilute vinegar solution makes you feel good that you did something, but don't fool yourself: it won't neutralize the pesticides and won't destroy the mold carcinogens. Wash the pineapple briefly with cold water. Dry it with paper-towel. Peel it well. Remove the "eyes". The "How to Cut a Pineapple" episode is excellent. If you bought the pineapple in the US, throw its skin away.
