Tine Mena is the first woman from North East India to summit Mount Everest. Her ascent was focused on raising awareness about climbing for the youth in Arunachal Pradesh, where she lives. Now, Mena shares her knowledge of the outdoors with her community with the hope that it will inspire them to explore the world around them. This mountainous state, has limited exposure to climbing and adventure sports, which Mena is determined to change. Filmmaker Tushar Joneja profiles this extraordinary woman in his short piece Beyond Everest. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe ➡ Get More Short Film Showcase: http://bit.ly/ShortFilmShowcase About Short Film Showcase: The Short Film Showcase spotlights exceptional short videos created by filmmakers from around the web and selected by National Geographic editors.

Leave everest alone. Way to many people go there. There should be only a limited amount of people per year allowed to go there.
boski (11 days ago)
Sky Diving is incredibly cheap compared to climbing Everest is it not? A Permit to climb starts at 10k USD
Soum (11 days ago)
boski not much expensive than sky diving etc. I don't really see any expense in climbing at all apart from the equipments which is readily available.
boski (11 days ago)
Ofcourse they do, but it's incredibly expensive to do so, therefore there isn't really an awful lot of people doing it.
thorny rose (11 days ago)
boski does not matter . Way to many people wonna get to Eversts summit.
boski (11 days ago)
You realise there's only so many seasons they can climb right? Hardly too many people go there.
