Increasing article diversity, together with more frequent and small delivery consignments, are making the order-picking process significantly more complicated in the food and beverage industries. Efficient solutions are needed. This is why Krones has developed a modularised, automatic order-picking system for the food and beverage industries.
The Krones Group plans, develops and manufactures machines and complete lines for the fields of process, filling and packaging technology. Its product portfolio is rounded off by information technology, factory planning and products from Krones’ subsidiaries as intralogistics, valve production etc.
You can find all current information about Krones AG here: https://www.krones.com/
And much more on our corporate blog: https://blog.krones.com/
We use a similar type system...Except we require each SKU to be ordered in Even Layer quantities.

2:50 demonstrates the ability to manipulate individual units by machine. Out of curiosity, why didn't you do something like this at 1:00?

Great video showing a great example of an automated picking system, I recently purchased an automated warehousing system from Quickline Storage, they installed it efficiently and safely, now I have a vastly more efficient warehouse! http://quicklinestorage.co.uk/

+Shimon Doodkin, A global company called Ambaflex makes those spiral conveyors multi level, I am pretty sure krones dont make it themselves but buys from them! www.ambaflex.com

An optimal process for micro supply chain with macro effects to be realized within 5-10 years. Pickers will be eliminated from the workforce, there will be second and third order effects unrelated to this industry. But I don't care, optimization at any cost is worth enhancing a lean operation and enhancing customer service.
